Why am I thinking that if all of the braces on the top were solidly joined together, this guitar might not have any sound at all. Seriously, that's a lot of bracing for such a small guitar.
ОтветитьGreat channel! Keep up the great work! I would love to see a video like this done with an upper lever Blueridge Guitar. A BR-160 or BR-180 range. I think those guitars punch way over their weight class!
ОтветитьWowZa ugly sound to drop a guitar yikes😮
ОтветитьDoes he demo a Zager 900
ОтветитьDisappointing.
ОтветитьLike almost every PRS guitar it resonates great, but character is dreadful
ОтветитьOne very important point you missed. You said first the action is high and it might be just a truss rod adjustment issue but you did not actually try to adjust the truss rod to make sure how low the action can go. :) Also I wish there was a way to know the fret wear issue of some guitars. Am I a perfectionist?
ОтветитьTime to subscribe :)
ОтветитьUé macho, sabe talhar a viola no meio mas não sabe fazer uma pestana? 😂
ОтветитьCurious… After doing a bunch of these, have you thought about whether or not you would change any of the final scores in these older episodes?
Ответить500 is midline for a guitar but u can find a deal on this one. recently bought this in antique mohogany. It’s nice but not sure it’s worth $5-600
ОтветитьIMHO, if the scale is over 24" it's not really a parlor guitar.
ОтветитьWould love to see you do a Zager guitar to see how it compares to the others you’ve done.
ОтветитьWhy do you cut guitars in half ? Can't you make an interview with the man who makes them ? What a waste of time, money, energy, material !
ОтветитьReally shocking how sloppy those cuts were. Hard to believe PRS would be this bad.
ОтветитьI have to admit it's hard to watch some of the tests, but the video did not disappoint. Very thorough and informative tests. Thank you. I'm a new player and I enjoy educating myself about guitar construction and quality.
ОтветитьThat ballbearing test physically hurt to watch lol
ОтветитьI don't understand how you gave its features a 6/10, solid mahogany is not common at this price, Ebony fret Board, Bird inlays, a pickup. The only thing I think could be better is solid back and sides, which is not always the best thing.
ОтветитьI once heard that factories set their action slightly high intentionally, because when accounting for changes in humidity, it gives it the best chance to still sound good when it reaches its destination. Its better to have a good sounding guitar thats still playable, than to have a perfectly playable guitar that buzzes out immediately. A buzzing guitar makes the factory look incompetent, where a high action just looks like they didn't set the guitar up fully.
ОтветитьYou are like Underwriters Laboratories. They are the UL in product labels. I worked down street from them and my pal was a tester. They drop things, drop ball bearings in them... Great fun
ОтветитьYou should test the Yamaha fg 830
ОтветитьWould love to see you review one of the full-sized, midrange PRS acoustics and see what you think. A50E or A60E. This was helpful as I've been looking at getting one of these... After this I think I'll just get another A50E.
ОтветитьYamaha
ОтветитьGreat review, my only comment is that sound is subjective, a 3 out of 10 is how you conceived the sound you hear. I play parlour guitars to achieve a mid tone, thin almost steel guitar sound and the PRS hits the spot for me on this so would mark it a 8 or 9. The other tests are fair as a scratch is a scratch is a scratch.
ОтветитьNice and very detailed review. 👍🏼👍🏼
ОтветитьThis video was very informative. My P20e tuners need replacing. Do you know what higher end tuners that are a drop in replacement?
ОтветитьI came to this channel for info in a set up and stayed for the diamond 💎 God tear Content 🙏🏼 thank you ❤
ОтветитьPlease cut a Guild M120 in half... There's something very odd going on with their bracing on the m120, very short and fat braces that make no sense.
ОтветитьThey all sound like ukes
ОтветитьFor $500 what do u guys expect. This is an amazing parlor. I use a J45 standard and possibly play this lil guy more. Upgrade the tuners, saddle and nut if you’re picky. Playability is incredible
ОтветитьI think you give this and the Epiphone J-45 too much credit. Ibanez models tend to be better at this price point.
ОтветитьMade In China.
ОтветитьThose drop tests hurts my soul and ears
ОтветитьFor acoustic demonstration I wish the mic would also be placed at the distance of the listeners not just 6 inches away.
ОтветитьHas anyone had any issue with the butter button on the tuners? Twice I've had to return it with a snapped button ... both times on the G string tuner. Will report back once I get it back from repair...
ОтветитьI would like to see the bargain basement Epiphone DR-100, be a nice comparison to what you get for $150.
ОтветитьReally interesting review! You did tests I haven't seen anyone else do, from dent and drop resistance to liquids and scratches. My one comment on tone comes from watching a number of other reviews, which is the strong midrange of this parlor guitar actually fits well in a band mix. Edit: OK, so I got one online, and while it is a well made guitar and visually attractive, I was initially disappointed. Acoustically the tone is definitely "midrange", seemed dull at first; a change to a different brand of strings (these are new PRS bronze midweight) might help. Playing harder brought out more tone. Plugging it into an amp definitely brings it to life. While the fretwork wasn't bad, it isn't up to the standard I have on several PRS electric guitars. Overall, though, it's what I got it for - a tough little guitar that could go places I would never carry my vintage Martin 0-18. Initial impressions aside, it'll probably be a keeper.
ОтветитьSo basically it sounds like crap but you could beat the hell out of somebody with it
Ответитьcan't you guys just remove the back plate instead of sawing it in half?
i mean i suppose you could still epoxy them back together.
my thing is, why not pop the backs, off, re-carve the bracing to be way better, then sell them for even more?
This breaks my heart 😭 💔
ОтветитьWhy does PRS use that skull and bones, KISS style headstock on an otherwise pretty guitar? And then stamp the shit outta the back side?
ОтветитьYo we’ll done got this testing
Can you do it for the new PRS parler the P50E please
They rise the quality finish and put different woods
You lost me at laminated
Ответитьyou know this guitar with some heavier strings on it would probably sound not bad after awhile breaking it in. All guitars need time to break in before they can be judged on their sound. Even a guitar with slightly heavy bracing. It just takes time to break the guitar in. Maybe not this guitar due to the ridiculous amount of braces.
ОтветитьI just purchased one on sale for Black Friday. It's a sweet little guitar. I love playing it and I'm rather surprised at how it sounds. The stand out features are the ebony fret board and bridge, the cream binding, the nice gig bag and the sustain. I did lower the action some via the truss rod, but I consider that regular maintenance. Thanks for the great review of this funky little parlor!
ОтветитьReview a yamaha
ОтветитьI've built my own electric guitars never built an acoustic. On these test videos I would like to see one done on a G6 series Recording King if possible. I never really had the funds to purchase a real high end acoustic except in the 60's I had a Gibson J169E and an all solid wood Gibson 12 string. Right now I just have a Ibanez AC340 a Seagull 2004 S series grand , a dirty 30's Recording king all ply and a Luna all ply , they are actual wood laminate sides and back , never saw a formica one . The Recording King has a solid Spruce top and Mahogany three ply back and sides and bone saddle and nut and a bridge and finger board made of what they call revebond . Certainly if I could afford better brand name I would choose a Martin 12 fret all solid wood and prefer an 1 3/4" nut . Guild makes a good one in their P-240 memoir solid top wood laminate back and sides.
At my age or 74 I can't afford high end except the all solid wood Recording King 000 yet that is if I only had one acoustic.
