Прекрасно поставленная опера, особенно оригинально на 53 минуте исполнен дуэт ведьм, ведьмы очень органично смотрятся, шикарная постановка, ну а Генри Перселл гениален в своей уникальной музыке. Браво!

Pluhar has her Austrian quirks but usually is loyal to the actual music.
In this though we get main 'numbers' sung in the set piece way which I thought had gone forever and the bitter end is the 'Lament' light years removed from how Purcell and Tate were scrupulous about it being part of the flow. That is why the chorus part ending the opera is pitched and harmonized as it is. Here it is a glued on chunk.
Belinda is flat throughout.
I hope that Pluhar re-visits Dido without gimmicks.

Great performance. Everyone is at the top of their game. Magnificent. I loved the lighter, comic moments in between to break it up a bit. Does anyone know who was the comic singing and dancing lady/guy?
