Hey do you know how to get your supply wagons back to 120? My supply wagon under McKeen has been sitting around 53 for awhile and I put 25,000 into supply for my Corps.
ОтветитьGood tips. I'm downloading the game right now and this is a good start.
ОтветитьGlad someone made this video. Kind of shitty that you have 224 views on this and only 5 likes, lazy fucks can't click a button.
One thing I want to say is I don't think medicine or logistics are that big when compared to some of the other career perks. Logistics is just kind of redundant seeing as how you start each battle with a wagon crammed full of cheap supplies. Plus you can easily capture enemy supplies with cavalry. Sure they're slow as hell and sometimes require protection, but even 150 skirmishers can cover that in the majority of cases. If cavalry takes your supplies then they're completely out of position. Never played a single battle where my supply cart(s) couldn't keep my men firing and I don't take logistics. Sure there are close calls, especially when I forget to circulate the wagon or if my army is split in two. Never a real problem, in the end.
Medicine seems rather weak because of the amount of men you get back. It's a very, very small number. Okay, it adds up, but so does everything else. I think politics adds up in a more significant way.
I'm unimpressed with the career point allocation system. Your choices seem limited and not very impactful. There's no (from what I've seen) stacking benefit from allocating multiple points in one field which makes choices that much more linear.
Really helpfull video, enjoyed it a lot ..... thankyou for taking the time to make it
ОтветитьVery good review! Best of luck to you! Can you mix weapons in a group? Why do they all have to be the same?
ОтветитьI would add this tip: Don't neglect your officers. Your unit stats (efficiency, command, morale, stamina) are affected by your officer's rank. If you put a major in charge of a 2500 man strong brigade, it won't perform as well as putting a colonel or brigadier in charge. Same goes for division and corps commanders.
Ответитьgreat game
ОтветитьI can't even win the first battle. I never can hold the town long enough, always get routed as soon as I take up defensive positions. And my cavalry and skirmishers are useless
ОтветитьMorrius 17, great video! Your advice on cohesive troop movements is going to make a fantastic difference in the way that I use my infantry. I noticed that you didn't employ any cavalry units. Do you not like using them?
One thing that I learned that has really improved my tactics is to be aware of the geographic features of the battlefield. You did take into account the importance of elevated positions, but you neglected critical features of the land, such as tree cover. One reason why your three brigades couldn't knock that one reb unit off of crossroads hill is because you were out in the open with like 20% cover, and the rebel brigade was firing from 100% tree cover. I've found that if I can place my units in wooded areas they are less prone to artillery fire and they won't get as chewed up in a firefight, either in a defensive position or on the attack.
Again, thanks for the video. Good stuff! Best of luck to you!
The game engine is a pretty solid platform so far and will hopefully lead and branch into other major conflicts through history. Would be nice to see videos made showing the difference in effectiveness in all unit types using the various weapons offered in game. Great play through!!
ОтветитьYour cannons have fysical strength, because the program gave that to them already after the intro battles.. You did not choose for it.U got 2 inf brigs and 2 arty groups at start. The other arty has more morale.
ОтветитьIts also somethimes beter to have 1 brig of 1.500 man and 1 brig of 1.000 then a huge one of 2.500... Hold with the 1.500 the 2.500 in place and flank with the 1.000.. ;0)
ОтветитьSmall tip... Where the hell is your commander when you charge into the forrest with 2 of your brigs? Second tip... Use a scirm of your right flank brigade to hold of the scirm of the enemy and go with the rest of the brigade also into the forrest,to stop the charge of the reserve brig of the enemy....
Your 4th upcomming brig can then be a reserve for the 2 charging brigs, that are already in the forrest. In this case the comp is smarter because his scirm keeps a whole brig of you bizzy... As does another one with 2 of your brigs... ;0)
ОтветитьI found, for me at least, that the most important aspects of the unit are not size but the quality of their generals and their weapons. There is a point when the size of the unit negatively effects efficiency. So I try to balance size with weapon quality, general quality.
ОтветитьIf you want to be true to Civil War conventions regiments would be named after the state they were raised in (1st Florida, 54th Massachusetts, etc.) Brigades would be named after their commanding officer, with certain exceptions, (Iron Brigade, Stonewall Brigade, Irish Brigade, etc.). Great tips though.
ОтветитьThis is the way I do it:
Quantity build for Infantry and Quality build for Cavalry,Skirmish, and Canons...
Infantry will be a meat shield
Cavalry capturing supplies/flanking/Destroy Canons/Confusing enemy on whether they should kill the Cavalry or stay attacking on your infantry
Skirmish for Reconing,Sniping, and take out the cannons... Effective on cavalry charging on your infantry.
Canons will be providing heavy fire for your infantry.
Got this game in January, but didn't install it until this past week! Got crushed my first time out... looking forward to putting these tips in action. Thanks for putting it together!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьYou should avoid stacking units right on top of eachother like you did at the crossroads. When you have units directly on or behind others, enemy volleys can cause more casualties by hitting both brigades even when they are firing at just one. My recommendation would be to have made the line slightly wider
Ответить5 minutes on changing names ffucking saaake
ОтветитьThanks for seeing game play and see how the ai reacts!
ОтветитьVery good sir! Im new at the game but its going well. BTW...I was rooting for the Confederates when you charged the woods LOL
ОтветитьI love your tutorial, well done sir.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьReconnaissance allows you to see the size of the OTHER army. (# of enemy Corps , Division(s) and size etc.) You need level 2 to access that information at the beginning of a battle/mission.
ОтветитьTactics and strategies to use during this game:
1. Control the terrain. In a war, terrain is one of the most important things to achieve victory. If you let the enemy define the terrain, you will not win no matter how large your army is, or if you do, you'll take too many loses and slowly weaken your army. You need to define the terrain. Move the enemy into open fields and terrain that you can easily manuever and kill enemy units.
2. In the beginning of the game, focus on the number of units you have, not the size. Your army at first is tiny. Your brigade starting size if think 1,000 (Could be 1,500). Don't worry about getting big bragde sizes. Get as many brigades as you can though. Think of it, an enemy brigade of 2,500, will always defeat your max brigade size of 1,000. But two brigades of 500 can easily out manuver and flank one brigade of 2,500.
3. Control your enemy. If you use propery strategies, you will realize that you can control the enemy army as much as you control yours. You'll find that you can easily manuever your army in a way to control the terrain, the outcome, the problems, and even the morale of the enemy. So know that you can control and defeat the enemy.
4. Destroy the enemy. A lot of people in this game wonder why their enemy army is always so much larger than theirs, but watching other people play the game, they realize the enemy army is much smaller. People too quickly think that it must be youre taking too many loses in a battle, and that you need to be more cautious. Usually they end the battle the very second the "finish battle" button comes up. DO NOT DO THIS! Fight the enemy until his units are wiped out, until there are no more of his men on the battlefield. You get so many more supplies, capture more enemies, and the size of the enemy army gets much smaller. Usually my battles will end with the enemy taking 50,000 casualites or more.
5. Find the weakness of the enemy. Know that the AI in this game cannot be a master of all things. Somewhere there is a gap in the armor, a weakness that can be targeted. If the enemy moves fast, his supplies are u defended, if he is on the offensive, his defensive positions will be weak, if he is well equipped and large, the more troops and resources he will be at a loss when he is dedeated.
6. Harass weakness. Particularly using cavalry or skirmishers, harassing weak spots or habits of the enemy, will cause him to break off units or reserves to retrieve what he has lost. If he is attacking your weaker forces, harassing his supplies, his weak point in the line, or his artillery, it will cause him to turn around or dispatch units to defend or retrieve what he lost. This can provide an opening for you to thwart his offensive.
Tips and Tricks for retards - alternative name of the video
Play game by fighting the battle, thanks, bro
It was nice of a whole Floridian division to defect.
ОтветитьThe Florida man Brigade.
Back home they can't even shop for groceries without having to punch alligators, so for them the war isn't really that big a deal.
I was wondering if anyone could help me
Im having issues with changing my brigade/corp names it wont let me delete the last letter
Very interesting to see other tactics, personally I use skirmishers a lot, I mean every infantry skirmisher and a few especially long range skirmishers for flanking, cavalry too for harassing artillery that get's left behind in battle with more movement than this one. I use normally have 1800 men in infantry brigades and 2000-2500 in shock brigades. Large brigades feel clumsy to me, they tend to be so big they get flanked easily. Good video pal
ОтветитьSo the first tip is to play the game? Ok? Next video...
ОтветитьYou, my friend, are all over the place.......hard to watch, although, fairly informative.
ОтветитьGreat video and thanks. Couple of points I've learned:
1, Keep your Corp integrities (sister divisions next to each other). Otherwise, your Corp Cdr's lose their bonuses.
2. Cav units are the only units fast enough to capture supply wagons.
3. Pre-Built skirmishers are far better than "detached". You can build them bigger and equip them with much better weapons than "detached". Plus, "detached" skirmishers reduce their parent divisions of both moral and strength. Use them only to protect and/or scout for their parent divisions.
4. Charging is very overrated. 3 to 1 odds min or 2 to 1 against a faltering target (flashing icon). Having a non-charging unit pouring fire into a melee helps tremendously.
5. CAV, not equipped with sabers, are useless in the melee.
6. Never, ever, charge CAV into a formed enemy line unless you like eating horse meat after the battle.
7. Cover % under 50% is no cover at all.
8. The game, unrealistically, ignores friendly fire.
This is not a Tips and Tricks since most people can read ;) Tips and Tricks are things that are hidden and can't be explained in game mechanics (UI/HUD)
ОтветитьDude, no, detach your skimishers to occupy their skirmishers and artillery and free up your brigade and you should almost never charge unless you are pressed for time
ОтветитьTL:DR -> This guy basicly tells you "see these buttons? , Click them" .. nothing you cant simply learn by actually reading..
Ответитьyou explained how not to double click so your unit won't follow and get flanked BUT!!! you can also double click on your units icon and it will lock it in place and it won't move
