Oklahoma State..
Ответитьgolf companies are getting ridiculous... and honestly, i'm just buying used equipment going forward...
ОтветитьJames, have you heard of the Lab putter? Could you please do a review of the putter ?
ОтветитьThe cost is the same as any other putter. They are all priced at ridiculous prices, but this one is no worse than a Scotty or others. The reason the PLDs cost so much is because each one of them takes four or five hours to make. While the final product does not have a ton more tech than any other putter, there is the work that goes into it. I believe this one is a face balanced putter, so it would not be for me. However, Hovland is pretty much my favourite golfer these days as well. He has a smile on his face most of the time. I like the attitude…. 👍
ОтветитьThere is no bigger waste of money in golf than spending a lot of money on a putter.
ОтветитьI bought a PLD Anser 2 last year. It’s a beautiful putter with a very nice headcover. I love the milled face and clean design. But as they say, it’s the Indian, not the arrow. I can’t control the face very well, so it sits in my closet while I have a huge mallet (Phantom X12) in the bag. 😑
ОтветитьMy putter cost £12 ( brand new at the time ) and to me its invaluable , would not dream of changing for one of these.
ОтветитьThe price of all clubs and putters specifically is crazy. Not a chance it's worth anything close to what they're asking. I still use a putter from 30 years ago and putt better than all the guys I play with who have collectively spent thousands on putters in the last 5 years. When it comes to putting, after you find something comfortable for you, it's simply the hundreds of hours you should be spending on the greens practicing.
ОтветитьA lot is made out of milling. It's a simple machining, that's all. Does diddly squat magical
ОтветитьWell I’m not that guy, just bought a used mallet for $2 at a thrift store to see if I liked the style. ( The insert feels really nice) None of my Ping’s where over $100 new and golf prices have gone mad! Look at all the great putters in history and what they used. 🤷♀️
ОтветитьI will stick to my lab df2.1 custom for $900.
ОтветитьI can three put with any putter.
ОтветитьIt’s beautiful looking putter but for that price I would like my putter fitted
ОтветитьI'm sorry there is no tech in putters in the last 20 30 years utter nonsense
ОтветитьI compared the stock DS72, and ended up buying the Mizuno Omoi type 5 because it performed better for me
ОтветитьAbsolute piss take 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI went for a putter fitting in February last year and tested everything the fitter had in inventory, and the odds on best in delivering feel, roll, and consistent ball speed for me was the PING 2023 Anser 2 and at half the price of a similar Cameron putter. The change allowed me to pick up +1.5 more strokes per round against a scratch index player since the day I put the putter in play (according to Arccos.) The money spent was well invested in my view.
ОтветитьWe use a putter for 40% of the shots on the card and yet it's probably the club we cheap out on the most, which is really quite ridiculous.
ОтветитьSee review on Dan Hendriksen channel as I agree with Dan, I think ping (I say this as a massive Ping fan) are being disingenuous with this putter as outside of shape and basic colour the grip isn’t similar, Hovi has a CB Winn grip, the sight lines are not the same, and the face milling is different.. I think if they are marketing it as a special edition and charging a premium it should be the same or as close as possible.. 🙈🙈
ОтветитьReally wanted this putter but can't afford it. Bought a used Scotty for about $300 less.
ОтветитьGlorified club salesman. You've sold your soul, James.
ОтветитьOklahoma for college 👎 Texas for college 🤘
ОтветитьI better not say you’d have to be mad to pay £699 for a putter, cos someone will have and then get nasty in the comments after their wife had a pop
ОтветитьI spent $449 on a used LAB GOLF MEZZ MAX 1. Best putter ive ever owned. But I saved all year to acquire it.
But, I wont spend that kinda money on one club ever again.
But Ive got a free PXG fitting next month, and the wife says another set of clubs could be my christmas present.
Liking those new BLACK OPS irons.
I love Ping. But that’s not for me. Great review though.
ОтветитьThat’s just an old Ping B60 reworked!
ОтветитьBought a 10 year old Ping putter from Golf Clubs 4 Cash for 20 quid - love it. The re-grip cost more than the putter!
ОтветитьPersonal opinion but it looks like an overpriced piece of crap.
Ответитьive recently changed putters from a scotty cameron blade to an original odyssey 2ball (paid £35). so far, the 2ball is far more solid. my point being, the more money you spend, sometimes wont necessarily mean better performance on the greens. try everything..
Ответитьmy putter was £120 but wouldn’t spend anything over £200 for clubs in my bag as i’ll happily do with 2nd hand clubs (although driver is new) as would rather make sure my son had/has decent clubs in his bag .
golf is expensive but other sports are that way, as a footy fan as well the current cost on replica tops or even boots for kids are more in cost now then what they were 10yrs ago
I'll stick with my anser 5
ОтветитьYou get a new sponsor on your collar?
ОтветитьAny putter that is fit for you 10 bucks or 1000 buck, the fit is what makes the difference.
ОтветитьPutter head cover banter 😂😂👏👏 that was great
ОтветитьI went to PGA Superstore to purchase a Ping DS72 back in May and ended up testing every single putter in the store. Ended up purchasing a LAB DF3 (custom ordered through their website) even though I hated the appearance of it. Results don't lie.
ОтветитьI have no problem with myself or others spending whatever they like for clubs or putters but I also believe great putters are born all others can improve with practice and fitting but a great putter can putt with a rock tide to a stick, no matter what you spend I see so many who cant read a putt or match the speed to the read so it won't matter what they putt with.
ОтветитьIt does look cool.
ОтветитьI played a round at Doral in 1973 (?). I rented clubs, and didn't like the putter, so I bought a brand new PING ($25), because it felt nice. I hadn't really ever played much golf. I took this putter with me when I moved to Australia in 1983, and took up the game more regularly. 20 years later that putter was stolen...never found one that worked as well since...
In terms of price??? For a putter??? No one flinches that much about spendin ~$A800 for a driver---which is used 14(?) times a round. But spending that much on a putter freaks people out---even tho you are likely to use it more than twice as often!!!
I've got #48 out of 100. But I'm a HUGE Viktor Hovland Fan. Dad was born in Tonsberg, Norway. Unfortunately I was born here in Camden, New Jersey. 🇸🇯⛳️🇺🇸 Alt for Norge!
ОтветитьPlease tell us how this compares with the PXG Allan putter you also reviewed. Both are expensive but your comments regards the PXG were also really positive.
ОтветитьPeople rage about the cost of new putters with real tech and RnD in them (eg LAB, sik, evnroll, axis etc, not repainted same design putters aka scottys that are just a price gouge) but then happily shell out for new drivers at the same price. The driver will perform 95% the same as your previous one as the tech is maxed out, but will be lucky to stay in the bag for 3-5 years. The putter will last 20+ years if it fits and you take care of it, PLUS you use the putter more then any other club PLUS there have been real advances in the tech. Why cheap out on it.
ОтветитьI have a PLD DS72 but it is in gunmetal gray. Great putter for me. Not really interested in spending extra money for a putter that doesn’t fit me.
ОтветитьThis putter isn’t that expensive. It’s once you start buying them second hand off eBay when it gets up there which ping can’t control. It’s the same cost as all their other pld putters.
ОтветитьGot the non Hovland version. The best so far.
ОтветитьIt’s more than all the rest of my clubs put together will it guarantee you put better at that price ….I don’t think so you probably be better paying for putting lessons to improve 👍
ОтветитьBiggest problem I have is this is a Hovland putter thats nothing like the one he uses......... why on earth would anyone buy it due to that?
ОтветитьAbsolutely ridiculous, putters are very personal and about your eye and feel . I’ve still got a 20 year old Odyssey and it still feels lovely off the face and a £500 putter isn’t going to help me read greens and judge putter
ОтветитьLee Westwood is my guess! A true Ping Ambassador or is it Louis?
ОтветитьI just recently bought the 2023 Ping DS72 second hand for around 100-pounds and it seems almost identical to this new model - in shape and design and probably performance.
Not sure I could justify the cost of the new model - for just a different head cover and fancier metal - my putts will still miss the same way ;)
It’s the same way Taylormade released their limited edition driving iron, the stealth bomber
