Hey guys, after some careful consideration we decided to reupload this video. We weren’t satisfied with the render quality, could have explained the situation better, and made several small errors throughout. So despite all of the wonderful comments, and attention the video was getting, we felt it would be best to put up a more polished effort for the long term.
We’re really quite sorry about this, and appreciate all the feedback we received. Thanks!
Least you know she runs 😂
ОтветитьUncle Jebediah and Jeffrey said now you two are done getting the horseless engine going, can you stop burning all their moonshine and get to work on the mash boiler.
ОтветитьShe was a runner xD
ОтветитьImagine that happening whilst you’re plodding up the cut 😂
ОтветитьFor an rebuild engine, it looks pretty grimy: you'd think they would have cleaned it before the rebuild? Cleanliness is always a must when overhauling any kind of engine. This makes me wonder about the professionalism of the rebuilders? The seal ring on the flywheel was not installed properly? I don't think I want them to overhaul my boat engine.
Ответитьthis thing made so much power its could drift a bugatti veyron xdd
ОтветитьWhy are these not balanced though? Isn't that a big thing with engines? I feel like if I pulled out my car engine and tried to start it on the ground it wouldn't run anywhere :)
ОтветитьDiesel guys ALWAYS be ready to shut intake air down and not a rag that can get sucked in and bend valves
ОтветитьWell, at least it works!
ОтветитьIt could have made the boat plane! Such enthusiastic
ОтветитьI don't know what it was but That just reminded me of the African queen 😄
ОтветитьHell of a way to clean a washer off
ОтветитьJust hand on carb?
ОтветитьTo true you were not prepared, you only had two hold down bolts when you should have had four.
ОтветитьHold your hats we are going now!
ОтветитьNice real engines, not like the new gargage era.
Ответитьreal mechanics. maybe add that to your name: Hansen "Real Mechanics" Boatworkds :-)
Ответить👉 Old School CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS right there !!
ОтветитьWe had a 4 cylinder diesel run away on an 80 foot racing sloop I sailed on once. I forget the brand, so I won't guess. I DO recall, however, being terrified as we struggled to strangle it. Which we did. So did we sail into the harbor like heros? No. We did not.
ОтветитьThe flywheel is still out of balance!
Ответитьbruh, you can see the gasket leaking even before it started.
Ответить🙂👍
ОтветитьWhenever you have an engine with a valve lifting mechanism, you can stop the engine by lifting the valves. It will stop as it will lose compression.
ОтветитьBack in the late 60s we had a lister diesel on a cement mixer run away .. turned out the new labourer used the wrong starting crank to start it... in reverse, was an entertaining end to lunch break..
ОтветитьAwesome vidieo . im just an old mechanic getting a kick
Ответить1975. Looks like 40s ingenuity.
Ответитьwell you do have the nut on the injector sitting right there looking at you.. easy to crack it?
ОтветитьHead gasket still leaks it looks like
ОтветитьExcuse my ignorance, but how is the engine cooled? I don't see any coolant reservoir or hoses.
ОтветитьAt what point do you start running? Ha! Beauty
ОтветитьWhoever designed that engine gets an A+ in my book.
ОтветитьGreat sounding engine
ОтветитьThank God it was securely mounted, oh, hang on.....
ОтветитьThat's better than a cup of coffee. Runaway screwed to a pallet
ОтветитьI see your amendment to "runaway" and I will say that it was still a runaway. Any uncontrolled running up of a diesel (or similar cycle) engine is classed as a runaway, even if the fuel source is its regular fuel.
Ответитьthats a very hard knock when running stationary a wonder it dosn't destoy its piston.
Ответитьbravo cool
ОтветитьA real brown trouser moment if ever i saw one. It's that feeling of pure panic, whilst trying to keep a cool head and sort the problem as quickly as possible. Nicely done.
ОтветитьCo2 extinguisher is handy straight down the intake .
ОтветитьCrank up the fuel! Much like a Duramax / Powerstroke tuner. I bet she was "rollin coal" 😂
ОтветитьNice ! Job guys.
Ответитьshe sounds happier @ a higher rpm I think.
ОтветитьWatching machinary being brought back to health is Farrr better than Parn.🧐
ОтветитьThat's just fantastic! I'm a little concerned with there being no exhaust manifold how that works out in a boat or does in run only when out in the open air?
ОтветитьI helped my dad install a new (used) kubota engine in his tractor and first start it ran away. That is a special type of fear when inches away from an engine thats running well over redline and scrambling to find a block of wood to choke the intake.
Ответитьyeah thats a saab alright haha should have gone for a fiat instead, rookie mistake
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьAt least you know how fast the r p n's can go😊
ОтветитьDid you guys scavenge The African Queen
