looks alot like an elder scrolls game
ОтветитьI swear, I want this to be great, and it looks like it has tons of potential, but how can Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, a game over a decade old, be an inspiration, and yet this game's combat feel like it's 30 years older? Everything feels even more floaty and weightless than in Skyrim, I thought that wasn't physically possible :/
ОтветитьI cant be the only one seeing the massive skyrim influences. Even the sneak attack has the same horizontal line thingy.
ОтветитьHow’s the storytelling? Doesn’t look like there’s many character interactions or cutscenes etc. Feels like a Skyrim arena ‘shooter’
Ответитьi was going through some upcoming games, this being by far the most interesting and along comes this video.
Great timing.
Muhteşem 👏👏 dark messiah 🤩
Ответитьoooh ... Skyrim 😉
ОтветитьFirst person combat, sign me up.
Though it looks rail-road linear, I'm guessing you are forced to play the game how the devs want you to play.
That means the game is probably a one-time playthrough and then you shelf it. But I saw it's 15 person team so you can't expect them to make an Elder Scrolls-like experience. But you never know😶
It does have my curiosity.
The animation for the combat looks janky
ОтветитьI know I'm a day late here, but I downloaded the demo and had a crack on it based on what I saw here. I get the Dark Messiah vibes too, but this game has nowhere near the freedom of movement that game had - Testament feels a little boxed in by comparison, if that makes sense. It suffers from Tomb Raider disease too by having obvious places to climb/mantle and wall-walk etc. The fact you can't swim or even survive landing in water works against it too. What else? The devs seriously need to hire themselves a copy editor; there's typos and grammar oddities galore. Yes, it's appreciated it's probably made by NESB guys, but having a product riddled with typos etc, is something gamers do pick up on. But there's a lot to like here: moody world, well-animated monsters and environments, good lighting, a dark story and so on. Just needs a little polish. So, I'm kind of on the fence with this one right now.
ОтветитьHey Mortismal, Love the videos and been watching you for a few months now and im a big fan. Could you in the future for videos like this where you introduce a game, give a bit more general information. Like on which platforms will it come out, is there already an estimated release window etc. Would love to get that. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьThis game looks great. I do not understand the nay-sayers. Eagerly awaiting.
ОтветитьLooks like an Oblivion mod.
ОтветитьI didnt see a whole lot to stand out from others. Will wait and see. DM of m&m was an amazing game though.
ОтветитьClearly Dark Messiah vibes but what i loved about it is that there were always intricate ways to go around the level and large scale environments like the undead cyclops chapter. Hope we get some of that too
ОтветитьThe gameplay you showed us reminded me of Dark Messiah, a bit, as did the general look of the game. Dark Messiah is one of my favorite RPGs of all time, it's an amazing game.
ОтветитьI can't help but think about the fact that either Aran has his eyes in his chest, or the most uncomfortable sword stance ever.
ОтветитьThere is a demo on steam right now. It's 10GB tho, a bit of a d/l for a demo, but I'll check it out, probably on the weekend, or if I manage to not work for 10h at some point, maybe even during the week lol
ОтветитьMy kind of jankness. Looks good
Ответитьhello. free comment.
Ответитьwishlisted, it look decent
ОтветитьReplace the kick button with a headbutt button and we may have a winner here
ОтветитьCharacter has inertia that makes controlling him feel unresponsive? Awful platforming for no reason?
Yeah, that's Dark Messiah for sure... Just finished replaying it for the first time in 15 years, and boy was I disappointed. I had such nostalgia for it, but it's just genuinely not a very good game. The combat gets stale pretty fast and you just end up kicking people into holes to avoid engaging with it, both your and your enemies' hitboxes are wonky as hell, there are only a few enemy types that repeat throughout the game with them just doing more damage and taking more punishment as you advance, and exploring the levels is kind of disappointing because you mostly just find health and mana potions lying around. And the abovementioned platforming is a gift from Satan himself. It's got some pretty cool setpieces though.
Man, these first person sword and board game developers need to take more headers and advices from Dishonored
ОтветитьAs soon as you said, 'platformer' I lost interest in the game.
Ответить"Alright. This time I'm going to play a sword and board heavy armor fighter aaand stealth archer."
ОтветитьAdd an overpowered kick button and I’m sold on this game!
ОтветитьI hope they make the combat more impactful feeling and that it shows more wounds that you are inflicting otherwise looks pretty cool!
ОтветитьThis game looks interesting. It reminds me of Tainted Grail.
ОтветитьThe Steam description mentions platforming. I know it can be done in an FPS, but I've never found it to a good mechanic in one. Onward to 200k. All glory to the algorithm.
ОтветитьIf this game is highly influenced by Dark Messiah, that is awesome. Dark Messiah was and still is an amazing game. Hopefully the physics are fun like DM, along with the charm of the game.
ОтветитьGood show sir
ОтветитьIs this coming to consoles?
ОтветитьMan these models look too good I dont wanna ruin these guys skin with my knife
ОтветитьVery promising indeed.
Ответитьthat platform section reminded me of a child building up half a block's worth of running speed to then fully stop before they make the jump.
ОтветитьA Dark Messiah-like? Now that's some good shit.
ОтветитьDay 22,pls review fear and hunger
ОтветитьI find it odd that in the list of "inspirations" for this game, Skyrim wasn't mentioned, despite that being the FIRST thing that came to mind upon seeing 3 seconds of the gameplay xD
ОтветитьAdd a kick feature and i'm in lol
ОтветитьAs someone who had a failed Kickstarter for my game, it's extremely motivating to see another dev team move forward with the project despite the campaign's outcome. Best of luck to the Testament team.
ОтветитьLooks like Dark Messiah
ОтветитьFor some reason, already on my Steam wishlist. Looks great, though!
ОтветитьLooks pretty interesting. I'll keep an eye on it.
ОтветитьDark messiah with No kick button? Unforgivable!!!!!
ОтветитьWouldn't mind trying this out, let's see if it's part of the Steam Next Fest...
