Is it ok to cough while giving the test?

I took my exam last week. But my result came invalid for a simple reason. The reason was, As far as I can remember, I pressed the keyboard 1/2 time during the exam when it was not necessary to press the keyboard. It is a natural problem. Cause I didn't do it on purpose. Perhaps, the pressure on the hand is mistakenly applied while doing the hand massage. And that's why they are band my account. So now what should i do?

To anyone thinking about buying a test credit, don't take this test. Too great a room for error and really opaque review process. You can get disqualified for the most random things.
Better off taking TOEFL or IELTS. You'll be doing yourself a favor.

Please don't wast your money they are fraud 3 times I give test by myself completely in a private room and follow all there rules and every time they say you didn't do writing section independently and buy again the test.

Now what can i do , sincerely i am speaking on my own instant words coming from my mouth , but you DET team simple saying your reading a scripted or prepared content.

Lastly, my latest attempt on 21/07/2023 was marred by the claim that I did not complete the written sections independently.

I would like to categorically state that these allegations are baseless and unfounded. I have always adhered to the rules and regulations of the Duolingo English Test and have taken each attempt seriously. The accusations of improper behavior during the test are not only untrue but also deeply distressing. It appears as if I am being unfairly targeted, and this has caused me considerable frustration and distress.

I must emphasize that I have no intention of purchasing another test from Duolingo due to the manner in which these allegations have been handled. It is evident that my valid results are not being recognized, and the lack of transparency in the review process is disheartening. As a user, I deserve fair treatment and the assurance that my test will be evaluated without bias or prejudice.

Everytime same reason given. your writing section not independently

If your results got invalidated because you were “reading your responses” from somewhere or “didn’t look at the screen” for too long. Keep the following things in mind. I got my results invalidated twice. These are the things I did to get the valid result, the third time.

1. Take the test at night, so it is all quiet.
2. Keep your laptop at your arms’ length, so they can see more of the background. I was literally fully stretching my arms to write but the first two times I had the laptop near, my results were invalidated. Also, if you keep the laptop at arms length, the camera doesn't pick every slight eye movement and there are less chances of your results getting invalidated
3.Make sure that the camera is exactly at the level of your eyes and you are in the center of the frame. Use a scale to check that the camera is exactly at your eye level. Put something under your laptop if the camera is not the eyes’ level.
4. Also, I sat with a window in the background, so they could see all the reflection in the back and make sure there was no one around. You can keep a mirror in the back as well.
5. MOST IMPORTANT: close your eyes during the speaking sections or whenever you are not doing a task on screen. Just close your eyes, and speak so they know nobody is helping you out in any which way. whenever I had to take a break (after I was done with a question and there was still time left) and during the speaking sections, I closed my eyes.
6. You don’t have to look at the camera at all, only at screen.
7. Make a new login account on your computer, only for the test and use the app to take the test. So, there is nothing running in the background.

I was concerned regarding the identification process. I have both my National ID card and passport. My passport is extended, and the extension sticker is attached to the back of the page. Would that create any problem for me or not because it is still valid, but I believe I can only show one side of my passport? Or the other way, can I process the identification process with my national ID card? Thanks in advance.

this test is some bullshit. I took it twice, followed all the guidelines down to the t. It is a bullshit money scheme. Glancing down at the keyboard is literally not allowed. Its very convenient that they dont tell you exactly what specific rule you broke so you have to pay again and again and again. F*ck YOU duolingo stop stealing peoples money, youre a pos organization.

I m not satisfied with the test rules. I passed an exam without using any program, I was alone in the room and during the test time I was looking only at the monitor, however my test was cancelled by the reason of allegedly I looked away from the screen for an extended period of time. I`m so disappointed ((

I gave total 3 time exam but everytime I was disappointed 😔 because Duolingo say, some programs running or your face not clear and 3rd time I completed my all set-up but Duolingo say you are looking away from the screen. 😠 I am 1000% sure I don't look away from screen. Duolingo is the most horrible English test, I recommend everyone to take IELTS instead.

Is reading questions in low voice allowed

I took the test 6 times but results were always uncertified. They are saying different different reasons. I am writtend the exam at 3am morning but results were uncertify.i am really felt low due to results.because exam questions are changing we didn't know how much score we can get.they are not giving results but giving retake chances for every attempt.
