Story #2. Something similar happened to me but not life threatening. I’m in nursing school and it’s very stressful and anxiety filled when it comes to exam results. As I was awaiting the grade of an exam I felt that I hadn’t done so good on, my anxiety was through the roof. A notification came through that the grade was posted. From how anxious I was, I looked at the wrong # and thought I had completely bombed the exam. I looked again after a minute or so, turns out I passed. I thought I had a 63%, but in reality I got an 83%. I was so happy after I realized I passed, I started crying. The brain can really trick you. RIP Yesenia.
