Shane: I drink three fingers of rye, I'm on the roof.

Ryan: Fiddling?

Shane: SURE!!!

I just thought that whole part of the video right there was the light in the dark I needed while watching this. 😂

I think some random joe just saw her, offered to drive her up to West's house, tried to make a move, got rejected, and he attacked her. He didn't want her to speak but also didn't want to get messy with shooting or stabbing her sp using the knowledge of the carbon monoxide reports, he put Thelma in her car, turned it on, and left while she was unconscious

Who said she was murdered? Investigators concluded that her death was a tragic accident.

She wasn't beaten up.

I’ve watched this video over and over it makes me shake my head. I use to drive by the building on my way to work and always wondered why the place was closed. I never saw it open and for such a cool view I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t packed. Once I found out what happened there, it made sense. It’s a small but beautiful building with a really sad history. Honestly surprised it’s still there.

If she did herself in she would have had a gut full of dirty burgers and stuff like that. Not a belly of peas and carrots. What's the point in sticking to your insane diet that a contract has you on if you're on your way out?

people often leave $1 to someone in their will IN CASE it looks as though that person had accidentally been excluded from the will. The point is to be very clear that, in her will, she had both considered him AND decided to leave him nothing.

I find it hard to believe that someone would make a false confession on their death bed... Usually that’s the time where ppl tell the truth cuz they’ve held guilt for all those years. I think the reason his confession was inconsistent was cuz he was drunk when it happened (so he wouldn’t remember all the small unimportant details); and he was really old so he wasn’t thinking all the way straight. Not to mention, memories from decades ago aren’t usually going to be very exact.

I think he crushed up sleeping pills (or some sort of poison) into the peas and carrots and it caused her to pass out. Then dragged her body into the car where he could stage the “suicide or accident” scene. The reason she got her injuries was either from an altercation before she passed out, or from him dropping her while moving her body into the car.

It’s also possible that he beat her up cuz he was mad at her for coming home late. And she decided she wanted out of the relationship and/or was trying to leave to go get medical attention for her broken nose, and for whatever reason she sat in the car for a while and ended up passing out. Maybe she was hesitant to drive knowing how drunk she was, or debating on wether she really wanted to leave him or not. Idk, I’d really like to know what her BAC was tho, cuz I don’t think u could just fall asleep and pass out like that unless u were completely black out hammered. But either way, it’s still his fault cuz he should’ve checked on her knowing she was in the garage for that long, plus potentially driving drunk. And esp after beating her that bad, he should’ve at least made sure she wasn’t going to succumb to her injuries. No one in their right mind would’ve left her in the garage unattended for that long with the car on. It’s extreme neglect, at best.

Y'all suspecting the driver because it seems obvious the car murder would have to do with someone who uses a car.
What if the actual killer wanted us to believe it's the driver?

Thelma Todd was not murdered, nor did she commit suicide. Contrary to myth, she was not beat up at all, only had an injured lip from falling forward onto the steering wheel. Her slippers were scuffed from walking up to the garage. Roland West argued with her about going out again, locked the garage door to prevent her driving away, she sat there in a huff, having been drinking, waiting for the man she knew would be by some time later to unlock the cafe and let her in. She probably had no idea about carbon monoxide (fewer people did in those days), turned on the car to get warm, passed out and died, it's a simple as that.
The story about gangsters bumping off a high-profile actress just to use her cafe for gambling is laughable: they had much safer gambling dens on boats out on the ocean.
This case never went any further because there was nowhere for it to go, nor is it plausible that everybody, her mother included, would have meekly kept quiet about her "murder" for fear of getting "rubbed out" or something, that's equally silly.
