Shutter Island: The truth (HD CLIP)

This is my favorite Ben Kingsley performance and possibly my favorite Leo performance. Just everything about their performances are fantastic. Throughout the film Kingsley’s character acts exhausted and difficult because he’s been thru this before with Andrew and he knows this is final attempt to save him. Ruffalo’s character is constantly trying to keep Andrew in check, making sure he doesn’t do anything too crazy because he’s actually Dr. Sheehan. The guards are all on edge because they know what’s going on, the nurses and orderlies were acting weird because they knew as well. My favorite detail that gives the twist away is actually revealed in the first scene. The CGI background is deliberately bad and messy because they never had left the island. Andrew’s role play was just started on the boat.

This ending actually sent me so far that I called my girl at the time and almost had a breakdown

He said, "she drowned them at the cabin by the lake", shouldn't the correct line be,"she drowned them in the lake by the cabin"?

I just refuse to believe it, this is so crazy, this f up the shi out of my head, imagine how real Crazy people feel believing their own story for their entire life, truly is a weird and horrible exprience

The entire movie rides on a line I read many many years ago... when you believe in something, reality matters little.

Trauma does this to you. Exactly this. You forget memories so horrible you imagine them happening to someone else.

Two of the best actors of modern times

Fun movie fact!: with him being a patient, they discovered water was a trigger for his psychosis (due to how his kids died as well as what he did to his wife)

So anytime he is on screen and so is water (rain, the boat scenes , the cup on the table) then he is having a delusion

I think I misunderstood the ending. I thought, THEY Made him think he got insane, to cover up the experiments. Or did they? I dunno I have to watch it again

well at least we had our share of great movies.

Showed this movie to my buddy and the whole last 10 minutes his eyes were as wide as they would stretch.

Truth is rarely easy or freeing... it is the ugliness and terror of the truth that makes it unbearable...In the end we are all just liars...but we tell ourselves so many lies that we come to believe they are truth...TRUTH is we'll never be able to accept truth...no matter how hard we try...😢

So the entire scenario was just Ben Kingsley and Mark Ruffalo letting Teddy/Andrew act out his made up fantasy as a way to help him come to grips with the fact that his wife killed their kids and he killed her as a result

IMO, Shutter Island is the psychological thriller masterpiece and the best Martin Scorsese film! 🔥💯 Since the first time I saw this movie, there hasn't been another one which has managed to mess up my mind the way Shutter Island did!
The cast is perfect and everything is done brilliantly in this movie but the part which I admire the most is the execution! Top Notch Execution!💯🔥
It was done so well that even Teddy(Edward Daniels) accepted the truth about him being Andrew Leddis before I did! 😂💯 Leonardo nearly made me go mad along with him!😂
