How to use heat gun to solder SOP QFP & QFN？

Heat will penetrate through Kapton tape. It is not heat insulator. If you care to debate me ...wrap kapton tape around your finger then touch soldering iron. It will not protect your finger.

Are you using the Kapton tape to protect the rest of the board from the heat or protect it from the moving air?
