What most of these old useless martial arts do is switch to MMA training and just keep the traditional name. It's just a bait and switch. Wang chung should be thrown into the waste dump of history where it belongs.
ОтветитьWhat makes u think a boxer stick to the rules on the streets. What u think a boxer dont no how to jab. Knees elbows been doing grapling for years. In the ring every day with a blood nose wind knocked out. Really. U might want to open your thina litt my friends.
Ответитьyeah righhht ...🙄
ОтветитьMix it all, From the start Wing Chun my first Martial Arts then Aikido, offensive MuayThai, shadow Ninjutsu and Last is Jeet Kune Do.
ОтветитьI can see you use chain punch very effective 👊
ОтветитьIf this comment gets 1000 likes I will give you 3 concepts that will make wing chun work every time
ОтветитьI use Wang Chung - it's pretty good.
ОтветитьM’y only issue is that I think the purpose of wing chun is miss understood… I’ve always seen it as a way to ethier go into clinch or a throw. Jkd guy here
ОтветитьWing chun has many actions that are in other arts. Boxers sue lower bong in clinch range and lots of parries like Pak sau but i see Wing Chun folk mostly chasing ahnds and failing to thrown punches in the lightest sparring. Jones jones uses Wing Chun kicks all the time ffs. WC people need to spar more by way of Gor Sau Luk Sau then spar. Stop learning to swim on the beach.
ОтветитьIt really does seem like that chain punch is a surprisingly effective way to overwhelm/distract your opponent to set up a power move.
ОтветитьI have great respect for Kevin for representing Wing Chun but I did not see attacks on the blind side, he often led with kicks and performed spinning back kicks, not his bridge collapsed from the outset. There are many principles of Wing Chun combat that I was tough but there are different Wing Chun lineages and I respect them all. None of the techniques he said that he liked were techniques that were taught in our Kuen.
ОтветитьThese techniques are not something you can pull off after 1 session .
ОтветитьWith all respect one can not jump to the fight effectively if you do not much longer. There are also great differences in quality of Ving Tsun. I recommend you to check about Sifu Peterson, Philipp Bayer etc. Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun lineage.
ОтветитьMaster Carr with wing chun end mma match in seconds
ОтветитьAbout time
ОтветитьAnything can work if you combine it with something, as a boxer iv learned mixing it with wrestling makes it really effective, I think any stand up fighter should learn ground game same with ground game fighters its important to know both
ОтветитьKevin's a great guy to learn from.
Needs a lot more work wonderboy, but loved your execution in sparring.
Really feels like you can learn one, watch one, do one and then hit the mat with any style you're handed.
I’m not gonna lie when he said Kevin Lee, I wasn’t expecting this man to jump into frame haha. I can’t be the only one lol
ОтветитьStephen my guy why u playing u know for a fact that wing chung works either middle of cage or along the fence u should have brought tony ferguson in to teach instead of this guy
ОтветитьI used to think wing chun was useless, but i see now its simply an art plauged by many bad instructors.
Ответить桥过三关任你打 哈哈哈,厉害啊
Ответитьhe deserves more than 526k subs.
ОтветитьRule one: the "wing chun stance" is a training stance. You do not need to use it for you to use wing chun.
ОтветитьSo where does kevin lee fit into this?
ОтветитьBut he is only sparring, a right fight and wing Chung doesn't get much of a look in.
ОтветитьWing Chun is for complete dorks
ОтветитьWing chung sucks
ОтветитьI dont think that kung fu hand technics will be effective in mma
Ответитьall the traditional arts are effective if you actually train to fight with them
ОтветитьIf you know how to fight than anything can work even taichi
ОтветитьI like the many ways you use the body in punches in different martials arts.
Muay Thai has right leg behind when punching right. Twisting the body.
Wing Chun here has center punches in a repeated motion.
Bujinkan I trained in has right foot planted and you sink down while punching. Focusing on body weight carried through the punch.
Piguaquan has you throw your body forward along with the punch. Similarly to using a forward sword slash like you're throwing it. Throwing yourself with the punch.
Funnily we also practiced a barrage technique. But it was instead a three hits in succession with the retrieving hand being flat, as our defense.
How real sparring should be done! Amazing to see wonderboy control his strikes and be easy on his partner. What a great lesson for the partners
ОтветитьAlways felt that wing chun does have potential which can only be brought out by mixing it with something else it’s parry is good the vertical punch can go between guard while protecting your body and the sweeps and knee kicks can destroy someone but the problem is that it is only reactionary and it can’t start and it’s only combo is the chain punches which isn’t that good so that’s why if it is put with anything that can go with anything from boxing to kickboxing to Thai to better them
ОтветитьIt's funny how the End of the Video is the most replayed section.
Never seen that before. It should've been where the Wing Chun Guy explains the Techniques.
during the sparring i saw very little wing chun but a lot of muay thai, didn.t Kevin tell you about wing chun kicks? maybe you need another COUPLE of days with Kev !
ОтветитьW
ОтветитьWing Chun is garbage. It's why he has to add all these other arts to it.
ОтветитьWould absolutely love to see you actually take a class/train Wing Chun. I think you could really become an absolute killer with it.
Ответитьwing chun's chain punch is being misunderstood. it is actually just a method of training. the actual technique is the same as karate, as you pull your other hand back, your other hand is punching with the force you get from the momentum of the other hand
this punch should be used by charging forward so the hand you pull can sweep away opponent's hand. it is so hard to be used though, and need much training to use the momentum correctly. also, if you are not good at using center of gravity, opponent can easily sweep your foot while you are doing this technique
your opponent cant trap you to get you into a takedown fight because your hand is up all the time, but he can do leg takedown to this technique, so just be ready to sprawl
if your opponent is swinging haymaker multiple times, you can use hau jin to neutralize the first attack, and immediately do wing chun's leg sweep. for xu xiaodhun case, when he fought that thunder fist guy, the thunder fist guy is just using hau jin all the times until he get falling down by himself. hau jin shouldnt be used that way
I'd never spar with full gloves out in the open lol, my style is trap and crush or smash lol.
ОтветитьThe chain punching in the first few minutes was very effective because the guy was trapped against the floor. Now standing you're mostly going to be able to trap your opponent effectively by using one hand/arm to pin them against something, hand trap or neck grab. Your other hand can then chain five very fast and powerful punches.

ОтветитьWrestling and hand fighting is something that you might want to consider when implimenting Wing chun. I would attempt a takedown when the opponent defends that sets him up to bridge with you allowing you to use Wing Chun if you don't take him down. They are forced to make contact in order to prevent you from taking them down.. Also clinch, low kicks, stomps and sweeps once you are in closer range particularly against the cage. I would lead with Teap, Roundhouse, Oblique kicks as your longer ranged attacks.
ОтветитьI think there has to be some adjustments if you intend to use this versus a Western boxer otherwise you may have difficulties because I think the change in dynamics can change things. Speed and tempo of both hands will be different. Trajetory of the punches, differences in stances, difference in footwork. difference in guarding, probing, baiting, feinting.
If you're fighting someone you are not going to be able to stand square and Chi sao them. So sticking to both hands may be difficult or move differently than fighting a fellow Wing chun practitioner.. Wing Chun and Boxing functions on different beats. The hand movements for Wing chun can move much faster/closer to one another due to its stance. Boxing will have a small jap so that might be something to consider if you're trying to intercept with the secondary hand. I think it can be remedied by being direct on the attack rather than being defensive. I would drill and troubleshoot the footwork vs boxing stance and test the differences. Wing Chun's defense is very head on and that might leave gaps if you're opponent isn't there and constantly moving.
Using an an analogy for people to picture the difference in fighting strategy. Picture two groups on the battlefield. Leader A(Boxing). likes to keep moving with his army as close to him as possible part of his army in the front and archers in the back while moving using hit and run tactics.
Leader B(Wing Chun) likes to send his troops head on in two groups simutaneously both in the front and put his opponent on the defenses and slip through the defenses whenever he can. He advances the attack and rarely runs.
The smile on your face when you do chain punches is priceless.
