Should You Use APS-C Lenses on Full Frame Cameras?

My question is the exact opposite - let's say i buy a sony a6400 with the kit lens 16-50mm - the focal lenght is still 16-50 or is cropped even on a aps-c camera?

I get a dark circle even when I have turned APS-C mode. I need to switch off and switch it back on . Sometimes it works sometimes it does not. A7iv

The downside being as I can see it, your cropping your full frame sensor so your not utilizing the sensor to its fullest.

We strive for the best quality of photos and videos and most of them watch them on phone screens anyway ;/

10 mpx is still great quality :) just having better button ergonomics, battery and better grip.

I have a Sigma 30mm f1.4 APS-C from my A6000 that I want to use on my A7iii. So that would result in a roughly 45mm lens? If so, what are your thoughts on that for portraits and macro photography?

How come the 24MP FF sensor turns 10MP with the ASP-C lens? Shouldn't it be 24/1.5=16MP?

I just bought an A7siii after owning an a6400 for years. Glad I'll still be able to enjoy my Sigma 16mm and Sony 35mm for now since I don't have anymore money to buy pricey FF lenses. >.<

Hi Jason, So I want to shoot portraits and with my research it seems like a 85mm is a good vocal length, but i have a ZV E10 so should i buy a Sigma 56mm f/1.4 then?
And i don't understand but why does it matter that it has a 1.5 crop compared to a full frame do people see that it's cropped when i post on social media?!

if you own one, it makes sense to use an apsc lens if that range isn't something you have in your ff lenses. but it wouldn't make sense to buy one for FF. that's about it

Jason! Apsc lens: Tamron 17-70 2.8 has VC. I want to have a stabilized lens on a A7iii for videos only. Is Tamron 17-70 2.8 apsc better than Tamron 28-75 2.8 FF (no stabilization) for video? Or will I be wasting the full frame low light potential using the apsc mode? Is the Sony 24-105 F4 the best option for the FF if I want a great handheld stabilization if I don't have the budget for the 24-70 gm?

guys but there is a catch on the crop factor, even tho the field of view apears to have the equivalency using the crop factor formula, but the background separation and Dof is the same on both sensors , so if you have an 50mm on apc or full frame , the focal length is the same , so the background distortion and bokeh will be the same. even tho 50mm on apc will have an 75mm field of view of a full frame , all those point that I talked about will remain the same .
in the end it's just a crop that why have the name crop sensor.

I do the same with my a7riii and that little Sigma 18-50. That lens is incredible value
