I didn't see this mentioned, but also Newfies are very very quiet , my bf had one. the dog probably said "woof" once a week . so if you want a big fluffy sweet sweet tempered dog and don't mind alot alot of dog hair everywhere and drool , yes they drool not copious amounts but ok with drool newfie are the known as the nanny dog bc so sweet with kids . energy level, is moderate. and newfies really attached to their owners , like glue my bf newfie followed him everywhere throughout the house and would sit in the driveway at exactly 5pm , waiting for my bf to come home from work ❤️

We've had this breed for 30 years. They are gentle giants. They are best in pairs. Be warned. Fur everywhere. In your butter dish, laundry, toothbrush, and anywhere you'd think not possible. And drool, it is considered a condiment here.

My sister has two. Im scared of dogs, like panic level. and the first one when he was young and we just met realised it and learnt to be more gentle with me than with others. Now im not scared of them at all (and I even play-annoy them on purpose) but he still remembers that he fx. cant use teeth and bite while playing with me. While normally dogs when they see my fear they are either scared/weirded out too or simply see me as weak prey lol

I have a newfoundland named creed. Creed is the biggest and goodest boy i ever seen, hes a giant baby ^^

They aren't the largest of the working dogs, however. Don't forget the Saint Bernard which is demonstrably larger, or the Great Dane which is taller. Also there's the English Mastiff which is demonstrably bigger than everybody!
