Hope this is false. It's probably true but I'm sick of Breath of the Wild. They've been hyping this game for over a decade now, please move on. New consoles should be the time for new material. And yes I'm aware Sony does this all the time but Nintendo's better than that

I know that PlayStation did definitive editions of their games on ps4 that were ps3 games and the same with ps5. I could see Nintendo doing that I guess.

This would not be good, it would give nintendo every reason to artificially limit Switch games running on the next system to force them to have the same performance limitations as they would on original Switch hardware. There is absolutely no reason they couldn't release a small patch to the base game to change it's output resolution and framerate depending on which system it's running on

The most I see Nintendo doing is maybe a patch that allows the games to run at a higher fps like the legend of Zelda games and 3-4 player Mario kart but I doubt they will do much more

Here's my take on the situation:

I believe that the rumors surrounding backwards compatibility are true and that the OG Switch version of Breath of the Wild will be playable on Switch 2, and it will run better thanks to the hardware enhancements but it won't be updated to take advantage of the new Switch 2 features. If you want the fancy graphics and DLSS, you have to get this enhanced port. I believe Nintendo will at least offer an upgrade path for those who already have the game so they don't have to pay full price though.

Botw remastered? It is already on PC. Can't remember when was the last time I play the game on my switch, lately is either on my PC or my steamdecks.

I don't think Breath of the Wild is getting remastered as a launch title for the new system, not because of reverse hopium copium, but because, being that it's most likely a direct sequel to the Switch, it having backwards compatibility with the Switch is pretty much a given.

Well, unless this version of the game plays when you plug the switch cart into a switch 2, this is a stupid idea

Any leaks that happen immediately after an official announcement are highly suspicious. If the leaker were that reputable, why wait until after the Switch 2 is officially acknowledged rather than before?

some people might not like botw and or totk going to switch 2/incoming consoles but i really cant lose these games and their worlds

well botw was originally made for the wiiu so its likely this is like an "upgrade" version for the switch 2 that u might be able to get if u put the original game on a switch 2

This has been leaked for about 2 years now. It may be something similar to what Xbox does with their backward compatible games in how they are basically upgraded from the original hardware.
