This is an edited version!... I remember the original being much longer...

The silence in the original scene is the point. Thank you anyway!

Excellent parody!

The meticulous, infinite coffee-stirring provides a lot of humour in this scene, which is otherwise of an exceptional dramatic tenseness. Noodles dodges all the demeaning comments the others would have liked to give on his long absence, his being desperately and hopelessly subjugated to the love of his life, and his having raped her out of mad, furious spite. And he does it in a carefully exaggerated, commanding way, by stirring his coffee for almost nine hours! All the actors here are exceptional. They only have their eyes and facial expressions to work with and they communicate more with that than with 1000 lines of dialogue. Max looks with an expression of defiance, while puffing on his 1km long cigar; Carol (criminally underrated Tuesday Weld) seems to be about to chuckle, perhaps hopeful to see Noodles falter when opposed to her partner and alpha male Max; Patsy and Cockeye are quietly and perhaps nervously waiting for a denouement to the whole situation. Fantastic actors, amazingly directed by the one and only Sergio Leone.
