Can someone tell me what are the most useful softwares for Designers?
Im an engineer and i normally use Autocad, Sketchup and Etabs. Is there anything else that would help me?

We all need upgrade no need to follow old engineering stuffs, designs, engineering 2D plan presentation. After engineering one need to creat his own methods, design to express in the simplest form easily understood by everyone. That's all we need. Engineering is all about innovating things.

SketchUp - for easy visualisation and walkthrough
Revit - Can do everything which SketchUp can but remember Revit is a BIM tool we don't get much info with SketchUp,no sheets generation estimation collaboration nothing. Also many engineering tools are their in Revit not to mention MEP
So Revit is miles ahead
Can't blame SketchUp it does what it's made for.

I use Chief Architect Premier x12. It's best and easy to use.

I think revit modeling go to too much time.. sketchup modeling very easy and time saving. So Sketchup is best for 3D modeling ...
