Hey guys! This still works great! Thanks for the Tutorial! But just a reminder! SKIP the step where he kicks out the apps from steam, otherwise it wont work anymore cause steam kicks the folders out. Just hide them or leave them there.

I did it exactly as described in the ideo, but "Under the Wave" still has the error message visuall c++ is missing :(

My re7 biohazard wouldn't run or give me the same error and I just tried it and it worked

I installed the game, had this error, followed the tut and launched game. Now it says game not installed

edit: i try the 64 and 86 one by one( not both together in the launch option), the 64 one working for me ;))

Works PAYDAY3-Beta on my Steam deck! I'll try it right now :oD Anyway, I installed X64 only.

PAYDAY3ベータ版でMicrosoft Visual C++を要求され、こちらの動画を参考にインストールすることができました。
動画ではX64とX86の両方を使用していましたが、X64だけでも動きました。

I guess my case is more complicated than this because I followed every step in the tutorial and it still didn't help. My game isn't even quacked.

Welp followed it exactly and while the pop up has disappeared, the game still doesn’t launch

I have a problem. When I started installing 64 I got an error saying that the system is not supported

One note here, it looks like removing the redistributables from your library now deletes the compatdata folders.

I installed x64 with proton expirement but x86 doesn't give me install dialogue

missing microsoft c++ . how ? pls help

Hey JD, works like a charm for a first time game install. However, I installed another game a few weeks later that also needed vcredist. But I forgot where the previous vcredist installation is located. Is there a way to find this and point to the same? Reinstalling vcredist makes no difference - it does not change the modified time for the installation

Do you know how to do it with the net.framework, a game asks me for it and it doesn't start...

i only have one folder after installing both. i'm not even sure thats from the c++ install. i closed dolphin and opened it back up, but didnt have any recent files in my compatdata folder. i even restarted.

DIdint work probally just gave data away to this guy, never trust a guy that doesnt show his face

I press play and it doesnt open the installer... what could I be doing wrong? I have it set to proton experimental, but i dont see what else I am doing wrong.

Works flawlessly. Thank you so MUCH!!!!!! My problem was that the folders were not appearing (both), only one, so I just installed again x86 and x84 and then both folders showed. Doing God's work my friend. Thank you!


EDIT: something is still not right. When I delete the x86 and x64 on steam, I don't know if related or not but the files stopped existing on the compatdata folder. Installed again, copied new file paths, but never worked again :(

For whatever reason, when I remove the files from steam, it gets rid of the folder. I've decided to just hide the files in steam instead so they remain usable. Not sure if this is because of the latest steamOS or not, wanted to bring it to light.

Why setup failed at x64😢

Tried this, and at first it worked (layers of fear 2023) but after going to game mode for some reason it doesn't launch the game anymore even on desktop mode.

At this point, if the game doesn't work at game mode I'll just stick with windows10 on my deck.

edit2: Solved after intall the great vcredist from the microsoft website not into the game folder.
Is it fixed ? No, i don't have the c++ error but the game didn't run (Hogwarts) maybe this game need more :/
