They play with words. Du hast cane mean multiple things depending on pronunciation.

Grammatically, because of the way its broken up, "Du, Du hast, Du hast mich" literally translates to You, you have, you hate me. because of the way German grammar works.

Its a play on words in a different language, i guess you could think of it as a pun on top of a pun on top of a pun. And after all that "Du hast mich gefragt" changes the meaning now its a whole sentence again to "you asked me".

You people in the States are so one eyed about so many things which means you miss out on what is happening elsewhere in OUR WORLD. The lead singer was an Olympic swimmer.

The lightning effect comes from a tesla coil on stage, with the threadmill connected to a Van den Graaf generator that feeds the tesla coil - basically, it discharges with millions of volts but a very low Ampère count... it's live!

thunder effects on the video are FX added AFTER the concert was filmed ^^ but fires etc was real as always with Rammstein :)

They did this live on Jimmy Kimmel and they set a guy on fire on stage with protection and a crew to douse the flames. Their Pyrotechnics are all live in their shows, not added during postproduction. The Lightning may or may not be completely posy-production.

its actually dual flares that syncs with flares shooting out from the ceiling thowards the stage. And then a third kind of fireworks gets of in sync with those. So there is three different fireworks just syncing with each other to make it look like its returning and exploding on the stage.

Native german here. I like to explain the text for non german natives because it has several word games in it. There are 2 words in german, they sound the same: hast and hasst. Du hast means you have and is no complete sentence. But Du hasst means you hate and is a complete sentence. Then the next repitition says Du hasst mich. This also is a complete sentence and means You hate me. When the next word comes in addition its changes to Du hast mich gefragt – you have asked me. The sentence Du hast mich gefragt. also has a second meaning, the meaning when sombody askes to be married. Next sentence is: Und ich hab nichts gesagt. And I didn’t say anything. So she asked him if he wants to marry her and he didn’t say anything in response.

Next part is the question: Willst du bis der Tod uns scheidet, treu ihr sein in allen Tagen? This is a traditional question that the priest may ask the bridegroom. Will you until death is divorcing us (you) be true to her in all days? And he answers Nein (no). The next time this sentence is altered: Willst du bis zum Tod der Scheide treu ihr sein in allen Tagen? – divorce is Scheidung. Scheide means vagina. Hello guys, I'm from Germany and I recommend you watch the Ramstein disaster in Germany. The flight formation of the Italian formation aviators.
