Agree with the other comments Deni. Obviously these releases are more about coming up with a new idea and marketing than releasing a good quality whisky. I remember edition 1 coming out and thought about grabbing some. Do I regret that now…. Probably not. Even though I do look to make a good investment, that’s still more so that when I do eventually open it feels a bit more special to know that it’s desirable. But if I know the whisky in the bottle is not great than I will probably skip it. Like this one by the sounds of it!😂 thanks for the honest review 🥃🥃🥃

The box does everything but give you a wraparound. If only Macallan took as much pride in their whisky as they do with their packaging. Sadly, they’re just targeting either collectors or the Chinese with their new releases bottled at low strength or so expensive that the whisky could never live up to the price tag.

Thanks for giving it a score it deserves. I'm not going to drink the packaging --it's the contents of the bottle that are important. Don't mind 40% ABV for under $40 US, but the price on this is just out-of-line.

As good as a blend, worth 45$USD, . . . may be 46$USD.

Deni, how old do you think it is? 12 years? On these special releases including the rare casks, they never certify the age.

Try the lagavulin 12 CS 2021 special release. Similar price to this Macallan. Would like to see your opinion/score.

A glenfiddich 12, which imho isn’t great, is better than this. This whiskey puts Macallan to shame.

Macallan needs to improve these products.. It was a waste of funds for drinkers but in the secondary market the price is already nuts.....

I got a bottle of this at auction for $155 recently. It's unbelievable, the box, the whisky, the original retail price, its complete wank. I weighed the box.... 657 grams!! What a boring boring boring whisky. But the whisky isn't even the point I guess. That fat log of a box will go on the fire pit at least to recoup some value.

I'm in China. It's selling for $120 a bottle. How many should I buy?
