Preaching is the primary means to communicating the gospel to men and women that they might be saved. Christ commissioned His apostles to “go preach”. Paul said it pleased God by the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe it. He also charged younger Timothy to “preach the word.” In some parts of our culture preaching is out of vogue and even disdained. Despite this, there is almost certainly more preaching going on in the world today than at any time in its history. But is it the kind of preaching that pleases God?
