I am impressed with the P50. I thought the P36 was over the top with its design and construction. This pen is a bit wider which is a plus to me. The resin is nicer in the Amazon listing but that is a personal preference. The price is spot on. The nib is nicely wet. My V126 is a bit dry as is the P20. I may sell the P20 for the P50.

Great review, Chris.

Thanks for another entertaining & informative review Chris. Ordered mine before the video ended. And it comes with a wrench!

Got the blue one before video ended, too. Medium nib. Thanks!

Another nice Asvine. Not my bag, really, but an attractive offering nonetheless.

Just ordered it in Blue with the Fine nib. Looks like a good pen, and I like piston fillers.

Do Asvine and PenBBS nibs are interchangeable?

the piston looks similar to hongdian one as is the nib unit. The resin looks similar to the N9 pen. Do you think it's possible they are sourcing the same parts?

I have an Asvine P30 Bronze. Your overview confirms my impression that Asvine haven't brought out any klunkers yet. Interesting to see the change in the nib housing, which used to be identical to the Narwhal (yes I know) nib unit. Thanks for this fine review!

I've ordered a P20 (so there must be some confirmation bias here), but based on your reviews and the reviews of others, I think the P20 is a better pen. I don't think I'll bother with the P50 and it certainly isn't worth jumping in and buying another pen. I'm not a collector (yet I have 6 fountain pens - - soon to be 7 - go figure - it's a slippery slope) and am less impressed with the aesthetics and more impressed with the performance and feel. I cannot comment on feel, but the size/performance just seems better. And I can buy an EF F M nib set on AliX that fits most of the Asvine pens, but questionable with the P50. But that takes nothing away from your review, as usual, objective and stellar.

Thanks for your video. I bought it some days ago in blue&yellow and I'm experiencing that the bottom part of the pen has some degree of movement when it's inked and the piston is contracted, is that normal?

Interesting review, Chris. Thanks. I'm particularly intrigued by the variations in clip designs on the several models. One question: In those models that fill with a piston or other barrel-filling mechanism, rather than a cartridge or converter, does the ink stain the light areas in the material? Or are there particular inks that are safer or more risky? Thanks for your wisdom.

Aurora 88 look a like for a fraction of it's price.

I'm so glad you showed the pink one, because I can't get over how much I love the cloudy sky one, but then from their pictures I thought the pink one was even better, but this has shown me the truth
