I know I’m just getting started but if you have any questions or ideas about 3D printing let me know!
ОтветитьCan you link the file for the white square diffusers for those of us that can't model our own prints?
ОтветитьPrintables also nice and cults
ОтветитьHello. I have an idea for an invention. Will this printer help me achieve that?
ОтветитьHope sometime you'll be able to have an update on 3d printing for your smart home! Not sure if you've been able to 3d print much since you've been so busy the past few months.
ОтветитьAhahah, even the American ring is metric, right 53.00mm. When the already stupid America will leave poverty with its 7/16 inches and ounces and join the civilized world where you have only 1 & 0. By the way, metric sockets are much better suited for car repairs.
ОтветитьDo you have any walkthroughs of how you connect your devices together? I know not everything needs a "tutorial" but it would be cool to see how you connected your alien cube to notifications across your devices or something "simple"
ОтветитьCould you tell us that make and model IR motion sensor? I can't seem to find it.
ОтветитьWhat exactly is the cloud lamp thing? Is it a switchbot ir hub?
ОтветитьI bought the Third reality Smart Switches for my apartment since they just snap over existing light switches, but I broke some of the brackets accidentally. Designed and printed replacement brackets, and it gave me the confidence to try and make my own version using a small motor and something like an RPI zero. Still working on the code side before I finalize it
ОтветитьIs fusion 360 still free for personal? I cant seem to find the personal free license
ОтветитьThat swiveling contact sensor holder is awesome!
ОтветитьCool functional designs! 😎
ОтветитьYou simply pull your hair out learning CAD and fusion 360.
ОтветитьAlmost 500k subs and F360 No-commercial license, no wonder they are pulling a plug
ОтветитьYou need a Sandman Doppler for that nightstand. Hit us up if you want to try out the Sandman Doppler.
ОтветитьThere's an endless list of things I want to design/make/print sitting on my desk and I just keep adding more to it. I might need to start blogging or something to make all this time worthwhile lol. Great video, keep it up!
ОтветитьIn terms of how extreme you can go with these these things. I completely rebuilt a microscope with new electronics mounted with 3d printed parts and a camera mount set to the focal distance of the lens to take pictures and output a live feed. Same with small automotive parts, outdoor items(petg, abs), telescope mounts, hell even 3d printer parts done recursive style
ОтветитьWhich smart led strip did you use for the cube? 🙃
ОтветитьI've been thinking to buy a 3D printer for ages, but I don't know what to look out for.
I know nothing of it to be honest.
It just looks nice to have and to print stuff out.
I like the notification cube. It's a neat idea.
God i've wanted a 3d printer since the early 2000s -- when they were expensive. I need to buy one soon though, but i get overwhelmed with the choices and end up not buying anything. It's an endless cycle
That cube light is really cool!
ОтветитьJust wanted to say thankyou for your videos, you do a great job of evaluating all the different products and their usefullness. Building my smart home based off your recomendations. Keep it up, and Luna is great too!! lol
ОтветитьPrint a camera support to attach it to the 3d printer bars.
ОтветитьI made my own vertical wall support for my IP camera (which doesn't have one not even a commercial one). I made a xiaomi wireless support for handle the button in the wall. There's a lot possibilities.
Ответить"...it's pretty easy... you get a caliper... then you can JUST... use Fusion 360... then just print it... "
WOW. Talk about false representation. None of those steps are "just that easy" and you know it.
I wonder what would happen if Paul Hibbert got his hands on a 3D printer🙃
ОтветитьYou can also do mid print layer stops and stick in an NFC sticker to make your own smart objects. Just leave a pocket in the model when designing and tell the slicer to add a pause command at the right layer height. I’ve recently started playing around with this and programming the stickers all on my phone.
ОтветитьDude, you literally posted this video the day I bought my first 3D printer! That’s a bit creepy. 😄 Your idea for the garage sensor is ge-ni-us though! I’ve been struggling with my garage sensor for a while now and this seems like a magnificent solution! Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat Video!
Thanks for the mention.
I just got 3 Ender 3 S1 Pro printers they are great so far. I hope that you have inspired even more people to get a printer and learn how to solve simple problems with it. And if all you print is other peoples designs you are missing out on a great feeling of taking an idea from your head to a physical working device in just a few hours.
非常不错的想法
ОтветитьWell done.
Ответитьi'm glad the 3D printing situation is much better now. I tried it a couple years ago and it was just too much tweaking to get a good print.
ОтветитьNice borg cube
ОтветитьThat clip on Echo stand would be totally awesome as the Enterprise. 😁
ОтветитьDid anyone else think the Echo Dot holder looked like the Enterprise maybe you could make the second design more like it?
ОтветитьThe most fun but irritating thing is that you can design models to fit your exact needs, which makes it really hard to share and get it to others that want that exact model
ОтветитьThat light cube looks really cool. I would have printed it in almost the opposite way though, in the I would have printed the light diffuser layer as one solid piece (basically a square tube with a bottom plate all one line thick, then I would have printed the black layer as individual faceplates for each side so that the lines that let light through could be printed with any geometry without the need for printing support material. Then glue the outer faceplates to the diffuser box.
ОтветитьGreat ! Sorry, this off topic, but do you know of a gas water solution and / or to control the Hayward Variable Pool Pumps? Are the only two things that I'm missing in my smart home here in AZ. I'm using Home Assistant.
ОтветитьPlease post more 3D printer vids! This got me very interested in getting my own 3D printer.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьSame here.
It is funny to see that the puzzle you had in your hand was the 3rd piece i printed with my printer.
I actually designed a custom robot vacuum ramp :) You can print Smartthings hub mount, I hang it at a place where connectivity is better
ОтветитьOh, Octoprint also runs on an old Android phone. It's called Octo4a and I've been running it for a month on my new Ender, and it is a great use for recycling tech.
ОтветитьI got an Ender 5 Pro a couple of years ago and have never looked back. I never had to do any updates, except adding an Auto Bed Leveller. Bet thing I ever got. I would say it is easily the second most useful tool in my tool kit, with the soldering iron being the most useful.
When it comes to one off prints or prototypes, I just find the 3D printer invaluable.
Watching this as my Ender 3 pro print something I designed.
