I died laughing when I heard this...because it's the truth.

Theoretically, humanity could’ve escaped the events of Mass Effect had we just waited until like 2250-ish to poke our heads out. Reapers only wipe out the civilizations that are extra-galactic . They probably would have completely passed us by, even if we were just starting to explore our solar system a bit better.

There is only one problem with this theory: lorewise we would have found Citadel the moment after the last harvest has been done.
That would leave us 50.000 years until the next invasion, and giving how some Asari were voting for them to create their own Mass Relays who knows what technology we would invent in meantime while the Reapers are dormant in cold space.

Mass Effect universe wouldn't have beaten the reapers if it attempted to be logical in the world it wrote. The reapers are millions of years more advance. And have guided the universe down the path it wants. Never mind everything else in their arsenal. Of course, they lost because of video games. But no one who dwells on it could accept the notion the reapers didn't bother advancing their tech for millions of years. Never mind the reservoir of data they would have from innumerable previous harvests. They would have billions of models on any move you made. Due to processing power and their previous forays. Ai within our reach of tech could do that many calculations. Let alone one millions years more advanced. One reaper would have more intelligence than the entire planet earth combined.

This day and age, Rapers would be called Fake News and non-indoctrinated people would take to the streets screeching that "Command Shepard wants to take away your guns!" and "Synthetic Lives Matter".

Oh goodness, like a tosser that disappeared millenia ago would present a threat to a galactic alliance, combining their technology and weapons into an outer-space Nato!

Well I'm 3 years late here but just finished the legendary addition of the games. Love the science part, but was thinking about your assesment about If humans were the first species to find the citadel:
1: Ironicly, if humanity had stayed on earth for another 100 years, the reapers would have most likely passed over us during this cycle, making us the dominant species in the next. That would give us roughly 49,000 years of technological advancement with the left over Prothian, asari, turban, and salarian cultures. Probably not not enough to stop the Reapers, but an interesting thought experament....

2: The Reapers wait to harvest when a society is at its apex to "preserve" them. So an early space faring species should have 1,000s of years to progress and expand before its decided to begin a new cycle.

Of course i would survive the reaper harvest because i know the citadel is the catalyst.

I guess if you could somehow leave the galaxy, you could survive. The Reapers are only in the Milky Way.

How to beat the Reapers:

Use anything that isn't Mass Effect based technology.

I'm gonna watch the video in just a second, but can I just say, why does this video exist? You could just point to the fact that when every faction/fleet in the galaxy joined a coordinated/combined assault on the Reaper's above Earth thousands of ships collectively managed to kill one Reaper.
