10 COMMON Mistakes New Raft Players Make (and how to avoid them)

For everyone who keeps asking/commenting: Yes, I call the shark Jeremiah. That's the name I gave him when I started streaming Raft, way before I ever reached the Radio Tower for the first time to tell me his name is Bruce. I know that his canonical name, but I'm going to continue to call him Jeremiah because that's what his name is in my heart.

The OGS will remember when the shark would eat ANY part of the raft not just the corners. Those were darker times 😅

I know I don't have to keep blueprints I find, but I like keepin' them as souvineers!

A good tip also is to park your raft away from the island to loot it without having to bait Jeremiah nor killing him.

ive in raft for awhile I haven't seen anybody explain the multiples of everything you you go to a locker fill it up with stuff you want save the game then open the locker and take everything out and put it in your bag then save the game again then load the game and and go one minute back and your locker will be clue and your bag will be full and that works on everything

i avoided most of them, and considering i was playing peaceful i did not need most of them. now i got some sort of ship. also, fun fact: the name bruce spans across many sharks in pop culture such as the shark from raft and the shark from finding nemo but i think the original bruce was the animatronic shark from jaws.

I made all 10 mistakes and have been learning the hard way. I didn’t know I had to swim underwater for all of the other materials I’ve been looking for.

Just watching your video.... I had no idea I could stall reeling in my hook and gather more materials. I was simply casting and hooking item by item as they drifted by.

When I was playing with my friends I told em I wanted a metal fishing rod, and they told me to stop wasting resources… all their food came from me……. Yea guys

insted of using normal foundations you want to use 2 triangle ones because is the shark attacks your raft it only damages half of a foundation

11: not going out at night!...it is so easy to miss loot but at night it glows like the sun....i do all the story parts at night (i have done them so many times i just want the loot at this point) works under water to. everyone i know waits to night to dive at islands

Or, instead of making the shark bait every time you land at an island, you can just park far away from the island and swim over to it since the shark will stay at your raft

I avoided alp the early game ones but I'm just so godamn bad at using the hook and the lag does not help

Probably shouldnt even bother with the shark bait. The shark is very easy to kill, once you learn the mechanic and on top of giving you much more time to farm underwater, you also get 4 shark steaks that can be cooked on the basic grill. Another tip is to not fully harvest the shark. Only harvest the first four items and then leave it and it will increase your shark-free time even more.

I Lost 3 engines to Shark because i thought that hr wont eat the raft

For the shark bait I never use, I just park my raft a bit further away, from the island so I never worry about the shark

I kept the blueprints because they are a collection part

I’ve been playing this game for the first time along with my friend for the past month, we’ve just gotten the receiver to work. So it’s good to know that we’ve forgotten about like half of the important things we need to be doing.

I am absolutely terrified of sharks so easy or hard difficulty is not an option. Played it on easy, fell into the water and when i saw him charging at me my blood turned cold and i couldn't feel my hands so i'm saving myself from having a heart attack XD

top tip you should never throw the shark bait far from the raft, instead place it right next to your raft and use a spear to fully kill Bruce to gain 4 large shark meat but stop after the fourth meat. while saving your bait for when he respawns, you get lots of time to loot under water that way.

Game is buggy. I die long time before I can craft something because hungry and thirsty. The resources are not even enough to craft a water station or fishing rod. You can't even jump into the water. Because of the shark. The hunger and thirst meter empties so quickly that my characters die right at the start of the game. There is no food, no seeds, and no water either at the beginning. The game is just badly developed. Other games can do that much better. Here, not even the basic supply is secured at the beginning. How is this supposed to work in a survival game? The game is trash

Good video. The only thing that's missing for me is a larger focus on the shark killing cheese, which you only mentioned as a 5s aside in the weapons segment. In my opinion, once you know it, it becomes much better to just invest 1.5 wooden spears every island to kill the shark. It avoids the need for fishing almost altogether, as you get shark meat for food, and no longer need to make bait.

(For the record: The "shark killing cheese" is attacking with a spear just as its mouth opens, which interrupts its attack, making the shark a complete joke. Learn the timing once and you'll know it forever)

i find its always easier to deal with the shark when its a floating corpse alot more time to free dive

What a mistake is from the game itself... (bad design) is when you are listening to a note and meanwhile try to write something to a friend...When you write H it ruins the note and youll have to find it in your textbook to listen to it again..pretty annoying
