DCS World Mission Editor Tutorial - AI CAP Setup

There are some additional things you can do to make it a little more realistic/controllable. First, after the waypoint orbit, give it a final waypoint to land. If you don't specify a field, they will land at nearest base, not the one you want. Or, you may think it's the closest but it's not long enough runway and it will choose a field that can accept it, even if it's in enemy territory. Also, you can set the option to RTB ON BINGO FUEL instead of a timer. It will keep it up longer. Also, there's some options in the CAP commands that you can change. I always change it from INTERMITTED RADAR to CONTINUOUS USE FOR SEARCH and also when it will launch. Depending on what the scenario is you may want to set it to FIRE AT MAX RANGE or FIRE AT NO ESCAPE which means it will close up closer for a higher PK. I will set one CAP unit to MAX then the other to CLOSE. Just gives you a little more dynamic set of rules.

At what distance will the CAP flight break orbit and attack? Also, will the flight return to its orbit after all detected enemies are destroyed?
