I was so impressed with this guy that I listened to scads of his videos and then spent $120+ on products he recommended for my type of hair. Only to realize in my zeal to have great hair, I did not realize that soooo many of his recommended hair products contain animal products and/or are tested on animals!! Being a serious vegan, I cannot patronize those companies. REDKEN is totally non-vegan! Also, I purchased Pureology no. 7 hair oil. And the extremely potent SCENT gave me a headache, nauseated me and made me smell like a French wh**e!! It worked great for what it is supposed to do, but I cannot walk around smelling like that. And the scent lasts FOREVER! I returned all Redken products and the Olaplex oil for refund and have ordered UNSCENTED hair products. We'll see how well they work.

I commented on your redken shampoo review video, but am commenting here as well because I really want this question answered please!
Why do you not recommend the Redken All Soft shampoo because of the argan oil content, but then recommend the Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair shampoo (on your recommended product list) which has... argan oil!? I'm confused, please explain! Also, the IGK extra love has oils in it, as well. Make it make sense pleeease thank you 💚

Can you recommend shampoos based on hair porosity?

Oh gosh! I learned so much from you by watching this video. I have oily scalp and my hair is thick/coarse/dry. I recently had balayage done & I only use purple shampoo/conditioner once a week. Regarding cleansing shampoo, I’m still confused if I should go with Sulfate free or not. Could you please advise? Thanks 🙏

I am obsessed with the ultralight, saturating hair oil from Sisley. I have incredibly fine hair, nearly bald PCOS-cancer remission hair. I’m almost 60 & my hair barely has any grey. But there are a few strands that are entirely a different, more duty texture than my arrow-straight dark hair. I shampoo gently. I use a length conditioner, towel dry lightly, then I use a scalp serum & ends oil. Then a slight misting if leave-in yo hold it back gently.
People might sneer that I use Sisley hair oil, but it is soo much less sticky & thick that I can distribute it

I can't afford any of these shampoos nor honestly half the haircare products at the drug store, but this is really helpful since there's a lot of products I'm wasting my very limited budget on.

Not hair related : About Coke… I believe it had coca leaf in it which is The main ingredient of cocaine. coca is a great medicinal plant in the Andes. It’s just an herbal tea that acts like ibuprofen. It’s used for altitude sickness, nausea, stomach pain and headaches. It is very effective and although illegal in the US , if you travel through the mountains in South America and start to feel ill, be sure to ask for coca tea at any cafe. I have met many travelers that end up going home sick not realizing all they needed was a bit of tea. I am Andean and wanted to share that interesting bit.

I guess you're geared more towards greasy, oily hair types. Newsflash: Some of us have dry, thick hair so oil helps to seal in the moisture and smooth our strands.

Will you ever talk about natural curls and how to work with them? I've tried sometimes to make your technique fit with mine... but light leave-in and oil in the tips just don't hold it... It is unworkable without boobs?

So, with Colorsave shampoos, I do permanent vivids (ion color brilliance) that aren't meant to wash right out so should I be using the colorsave shampoos or nah

My fav brands are joico and Kenra. Colorsafe biolage helps keep my toner fresh longer. Pureology hydrate works great but it makes my hair heavy. Olaplex hair conditioning treatment does wonders for my hair. I also like fekkai products but no one ever seems to talk about them.

I have colour treated hair (copper) and I wanted to ask you if you have any recommendations on a good shampoo for colour treated hair, that is, that it cleanses my hair well but also protects my colour as much as possible. The recommended shampoo for me (medium) on your site has sodium laurel sulfate. I’m allergic to sulfates. Can you do a video or recommend sulfate-free alternatives?

Hi Chris, what's your best suggestion or recommendation for itchy clean scalp. A couple of hours after my routine shampoo conditioner leave in, my scalp starts to itch like crazy, no dandruff issues ever just itching omg I have to apply scalpacin or I can't get any sleep. Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo which you recommend on your site also has oil (Argon Oil) as an ingredient. How can you say All Soft won’t clean your hair because of oil but then recommend the other? Losing faith in your recommendations.

Honestly the first shampoo would by Redken would only work for 4B/C type kinky curly hair because it has oil in it
