set 6097 was one of my first lego sets and i loved it.
ОтветитьI never had a Lego castle set. But castles were one of the things I built most often. To me it is core to what you do with Lego
ОтветитьNot really that chaotic, to be honest. But very interesting.
ОтветитьI love that this video was able to help me work out which set I was given. I must have been given or inherited the firebreathing fortress set when I was 4 or 5
ОтветитьKnight's Kingdom has a special place in my heart because of the narrative that was told throughout the sets. It wasn't necessarily good but it was charming for what it was.
ОтветитьMy favourites was Castle 2 I also have the ship attack set. I also loved Knights kingdom sets.
ОтветитьLoving the minecraft background music
Ответитьplaying legos with the og set at my cousins really made me wish I had them as a kid, but honestly I had the lego mini figure greed lol
Ответить“Black Falcons”
I believe the term you’re looking for is “Band of the Hawk”.
Does anyone remember that old lego castle animation? I remember there was like an old one with one of the big trolls in it
Ответитьwhen part 2?
ОтветитьIn the mid 90s Lego actually released three more Forest Men sets. A forest fortress with a molded base I never saw again, a tower and a little ambush hideout. In my memory they were never featured in the annual catalogue, probably because they were exclusive to some toystore chains.
ОтветитьI find it funny in retrospectiv when you see lego sets where someone at lego just was like:"what about if we but a bird there""why, we dont even produce that piece?""lets just do it""great idea"
ОтветитьLego Town and Space had already had printed torsos for quite some time when the first Castle set was released (Lego Space never used stickers, at least not in the minifig era). The stickers just allowed for a much greater variety of different coats of arms.
ОтветитьWhat about the Lego royal king's castle set?
ОтветитьCastle 2 was my childhood. I had so many crazy potlines, my main story was about medieval England and Spain uniting and warring against the orcs and skeletons. I made my own castle from a bunch of different smaller sets. I took it very serious, even forcing the peasants to pay taxes. Then I turned 12 and my little siblings destroyed everything, it was a fine age to stop.
Ответить6009 was my first Lego set.
ОтветитьLego Castles is the best theme and the only reason I'm into Lego. I only collect medieval and fantasy sets
ОтветитьIt’s funny I always was annoyed that they pose the figures with the flat of the sword out and assumed they were doing it so you could see the sword but no that’s the intended way to hold a sword
ОтветитьI remember I had some of the castle 1 and 2 but most of my legos were stolen while we were moving to another country
ОтветитьHad 6054. Classic Robin Hood vibes 🌲🏹
ОтветитьMy cousin gave me all of his old legos. He never built any sets from what I could tell, mostly using sets for pieces to do whatever with. A lot of the pieces from his stuff were castle pieces and castle minifigs.
It's been years since I got these, so I probably dont have all the pieces to rebuild whatever set he got, but one day I kind of want to try
I remember owning several knights kingdom sets a long with the bionicle like knights. Real banger product line
ОтветитьI think simplistic designs are better for children's imagination tbh, i think there's too many unique design pieces in lego sets now.
(Yes i'm speaking as a 29 year old, and i grew up with the mk 2 horses with printed eyes etc, also the first dinosaur sets, those were dope.. .. but heed my message!.
I just stumbled on this video and was taken on a nostalgia trip. I had so many of the sets from the late 80s and 90s. I used to have my pirates fight all of the knights because I didn't know the knights had lore that deep, except that the Wolf Pack guys would betray them to the pirates when I played haha.
Thank you for unlocking this core memory!
I can honestly say I prefer this setting for LEGO than LEGO Star Wars. A full-fledged third-person Medieval LEGO adventure game (or MMO) would be insane.
ОтветитьLove to see a series or a movie about these Lego knights! ^^
ОтветитьI rly wish for a return to castle, but id appreciate something like the 2010s kingdoms sets, where they not only make castles and knights but also villages and peasants
ОтветитьI actually like the brick horses versus the molded shapes we get now. Kind of ruins the whole point of Lego if things are too realistic imo. The fun for me was always finding the perfect combination of pieces to create what I imagined. Those horses look really good for being made of bricks, and it inspires new ways and things to build.
Ответитьover 10 years and they refuse to make new sets , outrageous !
ОтветитьRobin Hood and his Merrymen vs prince John
Silly American
I wanted those forestmen sets so bad as a kid
ОтветитьOne summer my brother and I used model paints to paint all the weapons with metallics.
ОтветитьI had 6074 and beyond.
6085 was my playroom centerpiece.
6076 was my last set 😢
i have never clicked on anything remotely adjacent to LEGO on this site and yet the algo dropped this on me
well im glad it did because this was absolutely mesmerizing. incredibly well presented. guess im binging your channel now 😂
LEGO Ninjago killed Castle. I was livid, then MEGA Bloks got rid of the knights and dragons sets with the eggs and orcs and everything. At that moment, I left both LEGO and MEGA. They were not for me anymore.
ОтветитьThere is mistake that the yellow castle wall is only in one set, as a castle two factions later also contains two of them
ОтветитьI would definitely buy a new castle set if they come out with a 50-80 dollar price tag. I love Lego Castle but the cheapest Castle set you can buy now is for $100! Lego really needs to make some smaller sets, some medium sets, and then one big banger $400 set like Lion Knights Castle. Keep up the great work!❤
ОтветитьAfter watching this, I went online to hunt down my first Lego castle, the one I returned to no matter what new Legos Santa brought me...
And I found it! It's the King Leo Castle (6098/6091), released in 2000. It had a large symmetrical, rectangular raised base plate with four hollow corners so you could move the four different towers around, and in the center was a taller tower, the castle proper. It had everything: catapult, traps, flying chest, drawbridge, descending gate, stained glass, skeleton figures, a horse, a queen... Despite a somewhat plain aesthetic, it was versatile in its build and super imaginative.
I wonder which line of castles King Leo was part of or if it was even connected to the "lore"? The knight figures don't have any markings to signal any of the groups in the video. It seems like a stand-alone released after the original Castle was discontinued (1999) but before Castle 2 appeared (2007). Anyone else familiar with this one?
i grew up with the fantasy series, every time the commercial came on with the skeletons and knights fighting, i would drop what i was doing and give it my full attention.
ОтветитьI had the King's Mountain Fortress as well as El Dorado Fortress! Also a bunch of the forest men sets!
ОтветитьThank you so much for reviving all those sweet memories. I had most castle sets between late '80 early '90. Those were the days... 🥹👍
ОтветитьWhat about lego kingdoms?
ОтветитьOh, wow. You almost didn’t look at Castle 2! That’s what I grew up with, it’s shocking to hear how few sets there were… I recall an orc boat, skeleton horses, among other things.
ОтветитьMy man, why disrespect the fantasy era like that? What do you mean only 8 sets? I have 7 myself and know of at least 6 I don't have. In my opinion this was the best era of lego castle
Ответитьold ones have so much more character
Ответитьthe classic castle deserves to bring it back
ОтветитьThese sets were legendary when i was growing up. I remember my dad mentioning how his little brother had one of the castles but sold it after a few years.
My little soul was crushed
