I own the WR and couldnt be happier. Ive been riding for 20+ years, had 40+ bikes, riden probably about a thousand bikes throughout the years, was a professional test driver and development engineer for the motorcycle world, and yet i will say: the t7wr might just be the best bike ive ever riden. Def the best bike ive ever owned. And the range is insane. Yamaha claims a fuel consumption of about 4.2L/100, but i always average my bike at about 3.6l/100. Ive done some serious 600km sprints on my WR without having to fill it up, its crazy ecenomical. If you get the chance to grab one, dont hesitate, you wont be dissapointed
ОтветитьTwo issues with standard T7 include limited tank range and soft suspension for my 95kg weight, modified both (Acerbis 23L tank and Rally Raid stronger rear spring) and bike has been a dream to ride, prefer the slimness of the T7 compared to the WR. The WR would need to be more powerful eg 900CC for me to justify the change!
ОтветитьIn terms of spec, the suspension is the only additional thing that appeals to me. Sure the additional fuel range is nice but you can always strap a fuel bladder or small can to the bike if you need that additional range. I was really hoping they would've filled WR T7 full to give you a better idea how it carries itself fully weighed down. Still, at the end of the day, I think I'd still take a standard T7 and take it to a suspension shop if i really need it.
ОтветитьI have tries both today. And i felt clearly more confortable with the world raid. And im not a rider of big bikes, so i did not expect that. But omg WR just runs amazing.
ОтветитьThe ktm is pig ugly.. id rather be on a puch maxi....
Ответить2500 EUR more for a better suspension? That's not a good deal. The most expensive Touratech suspension comes at 1300EUR, and most people will be quite likely fine with a much cheaper solution or even with a 200-ish EUR spring replacement.
23-liter tank, man there are very few places in the world where you will need that. Like Mongolia or maybe some super remote places in Australia. Even then, a jerry can will do. Wherever there are people, petrol will be there too. IMO, it's better to use that money to do the upgrades that are really necessary, like bike protection, and maybe higher exhaust. Use what's left for ADV rides.
Just put a deposit on a standard t7 but in the new tech camo colour . My gs is to heavy off road , you try and justify it and say no it’s fine but on some climbs I have had to turn around as the gs just wouldn’t make it. I’ve also skimmed the heads a few times in ruts it’s just another thing to think about and get stressed about . The t7 is just lighter and easier and more fun
ОтветитьSerá que a T7 vem ao Brasil mesmo?
ОтветитьBoth because are extremely awesome. But if I have to buy only one, the World Raid! 😅
ОтветитьBs its not in America yet,
ОтветитьWe both know they did it on purpose (in regards to the lack of fuel in the world raid)
ОтветитьLove my T7 Standard... Almost owned it coming 2 years and my mileage nearly 80k yet I don't have any problem with this bike.. Still using the same stock Chain and Sprocket.. Tires 2x changed.. Battery can last me only for 1 year and 10 months.. But just changed it recently... No electronics issues or mechanicals.. Daily Grinding... Thanks Yamaha
ОтветитьAnyone made a petition for yamaha to bring wr edition to the USA. I would definitely buy it. Bigger fuel tank 6 gallon(300mile range) one tank on each side and it is lower. The seat is improved. Much better suspension than the regular t7. Better lcd screen.
ОтветитьI like the standard myself. If you are doing long range, then the WR is the way to go. That being said, the sleekness of the standard and once you put you own flare on it, hard to beat...imho.
ОтветитьT7 please.
ОтветитьProbably just need to buy the Aprilia 660 Tuareg -- the lack of Yamaha availability is still stuck in my craw. Can't find one even to look at and certainly not to possibly ride. Plus, the T7 vs the 660 Tuareg .. LED lighting, better suspension, better seat, tubeless tires, better windscreen, TFT color screen, Modes and engine braking and ABS changes, sounds to me like the Tuareg is a Bargain for $1500-$2000 difference + you can find them in dealerships.!!
ОтветитьWorld Raid still has the "low Exhaust Pipe" -- thought they might fix that...hmmm....................
ОтветитьI loved the Raid & was going to buy one when they were released. unfortunately the seat was far too high & my circumstances changed & I needed a more road biased bike for long distance to see my family so I went with a 2020 Africa Twin AS instead. I’m very happy with it but the tech is just ridiculous & unnecessary. Would still love a Raid for off road & shorter distance though… such a good looking bike
ОтветитьWhy does the EU get all the cool world raid/dakar versions and the US is left out?
ОтветитьAll that, and they didn't fix the exhaust mount issue?
