It's neat to see where the songs you enjoy so much and cruise down the road at full blast originated from. Also, gees, Hugh Padgham was literally everywhere in the 80's attached to all my favorite albums; Hall and Oates - H2O, The Police - Synchronicity and now I learn, Genesis - Invisible Touch.
ОтветитьAs a thirteen year old when this album came out I was already 5 yrs into a lifelong love of the band…I used to get so excited about any clip or interview about them that I might catch by pure luck on tv. I never knew about this documentary, I think it’s just as well because if I’d found out I’d missed it I would have been distraught.😅
ОтветитьFunny how they mime the studio recording like some live show although the real reordings were made totally different way actually.
ОтветитьThey made enough money to get an SSL and more multitrack machines.
ОтветитьPhil’s drum groove on both the Simmons pads and the real cymbals is just too good to be true.
ОтветитьWhat happened to the tracks they binned from this album?
ОтветитьThe best🤟🤟🤟
God save the Phil. Eternel Respect. From Paris, thank you so much for this documentary.
Ответить“His drumming days are over” fast forward ⏩ 30 years. Btw great instrumental from tonight tonight tonight although that part was dropped for live playings
Ответитьwhat a collection of pull-overs lol
ОтветитьA bit of “Tonight Tonight Tonight” nice
ОтветитьSUPER BAND ALL THE TIMES
ОтветитьI wished the band made at least 4 more albums. They just disappeared into the nineties. I would have thought they retired.
ОтветитьEntertaining as such, but of course, this was nowhere near the way the album was actually recorded.
ОтветитьWhat a strange album... Land of Confusion, Domino, Tonight, Tonight, Tonight, The Brazilian..... all great Prog tracks. The song Invisible Touch had great potential but needs a little more work. In Too Deep, Anything She Does and Throwing It All Away really should have been thrown away...
Ответить"Invisible Touch" is a great album !!!
Ответить"Invisible Touch " in my opinion was a departure from the Prog Rock vibe ,into the Pop Rock ...."In To Deep &Throwing It All Away" had more of a Phil Collins solo style. They could easily have been part of a Phil Collins solo album
ОтветитьI remember seeing this and being so excited about the sound of what would become 'tonight tonight tonight' on the album....but when I bought the album that track (and the whole album) was an intense disappointment. Something was lost in the production.
ОтветитьThe group 'Zeppo' must of course be Frank Zappa. A natural group unto which to look. Zappa was a creative genius.
Love 'Monkey/Zulu' morphed into their huge hit 'Tonight, Tonight, Tonight'! Notice the drum adaptation of the towel on the electronic pad....Phil borrowed that idea from his Beatle idol Ringo Starr.
Their Wembley concert(s) were incredible. Like it or not the crowd was insane. Abacab never sounded so good and Mike's solos were great. "and though she'll "mess" up your life". LOL Fuck up your life! (in concert)! You go Phil!
Ответить...such a poor album. Overrated, over played...and I so liked these guys. They should have stopped with Duke. Seriously downhill there-on, even if their bank balances said otherwise
Ответить...the worst album
ОтветитьI still dont understand they they split up in 1993,after then none of them did anything decent recording wise
ОтветитьI'm a huge fan of the jumpers
ОтветитьThanks for posting! I read somewhere the facility sadly does not operate anymore, does it?
