He was right about his last point. If Netflix or Amazon managed to acquire Warner Bros. Interactive, they would become a serious competitor to Sony and Microsoft, overnight. Every triple-A gamer would start to take them seriously. It would also be very controversial and not everyone would be happy about it.

Batman alone isn't enough, you need a constant game like battlefield that can keep people playing over months or years. Without multiplayer the system would be a secondary device

I think Microsoft will add extra tiers onto Game Pass at some point that will have other entertainment like Movies and TV. That could be from Netflix if Microsoft does want to acquire them.

Wow ...that's a pretty grim future for hardcore gamers who want cutting edge highly polished AAA games on a big screen running smooth as silk on native hardware with no video compression. My question to Michael Pachter is how do we secure the future of cutting edge highly polished AAA games going forward in a world of casuals playing mediocre games on a tiny mobile screen or playing laggy compressed streams via a TV. As far as I can see, Sony is the only one flying the flag and Michael Pachter seems to have a death wish against them. Does Michael Pachter have secret shares in Game Pass or something.
