conquest has the kit on it or the wide body look.
ОтветитьMy brother had a black one with thin yellow gold pinstripes. Very cool car
ОтветитьThe 83 hood is so much better looking than 84-88.
ОтветитьWhat a sweet design!!!
ОтветитьHad a 88 black with black leather!!But mine was a Starion
ОтветитьYou guys are SO DAMN YOUNG.... Anyone over 37 to 45 yr old who knows cars knew these existed if not drove em or fixed em 😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьAlways know about those cars
Ответитьやはりスタリオンはかっこいいぜ😊
Ответить這就日蝕前一代車型,印象中跟克萊斯勒stealth雙生車
ОтветитьSister had a Starion in high school, then she got the predecessor an eclipse
Ответитьhave heard of the Starions and Conquest from back in the day, had a neighbor that had one brand new, it's missing the 3 red diamond chape from the brand on the hood and tailgate. So, I believe this is a Conquest. I was under the impression that the Starion was designed to be a direct competition to the Porsche's 944's and 924's. That's why the wide body were so prominent on the Starions. Back in the 80's like mentioned before, the car manufacturers shared different models and made cross models for their own brand, Corolla had the Chevy Nova's on the 90's. Dodge had the Colt, Mitsubishi had the Champ. Dodge Neon and Chrysler had the, NEON... (LOL). Mitsubishi had the 3000GT, Dodge had the Stealth, and so on. Like mentioned before Mitsubishi had the Eclipse, the Chrysler had the Eagle brand, and they had the Talon. The reason say That Chrysler had the Eagle brand, was because they not only made the "Eagle Talon", they had other sedans branded Eagle, like the Premier, the Vision etc. Mitsubishi had the Montero, Dodge had the Raider. I could go on and on. People in America wanted American cars back in the day, they didn't want Japanese cars, but the manufacturers trick them into thinking they had 100% American cars with their "twin sisters" with different badges and a few cosmetic changes, like different tail lights and a few different interior changes. Bud their counter parts were made by either, their Japanese brand, or vice-versa.
If I am wrong in anything here, I do apologize but I was just a kid back in the 80's and again, I was always under that impression all this time.
I love to watch your vids...I'm a fan from Philippines...Good job in detailing with this JDM legend
ОтветитьThis was one of my favourite cars back in the day
The first one I saw was on a tv show and was red
I did see a couple on the roads when in the 90,s the UK saw quite a lot of Japanese imports coming across
Excellent video I really love the mix of vehicles you do
And the results are amazing
Omg the chickens XD I love this one, guys. Good job!
Ответитьi owned one
Ответитьthats definitely the Starion. if it was the Conquest, the chrysler logo would be embossed on the front of the car at the end of the hood. Mitsubishi had emblems that could be removed
ОтветитьMy 1988Starion had the 2.6L I4 turbo with 188hp.
ОтветитьI have driven a Starion in Malaysia many years ago... nice car
ОтветитьI saw the car and the cannibal run movie with Jackie Chan driving it
ОтветитьNo no no no no no no no no no no no no no no this car is pure Mitsubishi Dodge Chrysler had nothing to do with it the conquest is exactly the same car as a starion!!!!
ОтветитьMy mother drove the CONQUEST TSI. It was a blast to drive.
ОтветитьStarian and the Supra were the fun cars in the 80s for me. Love the styling.
ОтветитьHad a conquest back in the 90s,cool cars and love your channel!
ОтветитьMy friend had a Dodge conquest. It had a Chrysler logo imprint, a Mitsubishi engine, a Dodge name plate, and mitsubishi on the steering wheel. He called it the Alien. The japanese sellers created the Starion to match a car called the Colt. Japanese companies couldn't pronounce Stallion. Thus it was called Starion.
ОтветитьI've known of those names, Starion & Conquest when they were new. Loved the Starion!!!
ОтветитьThis car is very special for me because I have ALWAYS wanted a Conquest Tsi with the G54B 2.6L engine (a big I-4). I have owned a 1990 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD, a 1992 Plymouth Colt hatchback (Mitsubishi Mirage) that I swapped a fully built 4g63t into and converted to AWD with Eclipse parts, a 1990 Dodge Colt hatchback that I swapped a junkyard 4g63 NA engine into with a 5 speed manual that was alot of fun, and I even owned a 1989 Eagle Summit sedan with a stock NA 4g61 (the 1.6L DOHC smaller brother of the 4g63) that I turbocharged using DSM parts with a 5 speed manual. It was a rare car as well. I was a moderator of a forum that was completely dedicated to all CSM (Colt/Summit/Mirage) cars, along with Galant VR4s, 3000GT VR4s, and all versions of the DSM cars and we have all built SO many different iterations of these cars. I haven't seen ANY of these cars here in Pittsburgh for many many years.
ОтветитьAlso, I HATE to say it, but I would LOVE to get this car and swap a 6G72TT into it with a regular RWD 5 speed transmission. The G54B just doesn't do it for me.
ОтветитьI had the 1986 Dodge Conquest TSI.. GREAT handling car and QUICK!! Wow, I sure miss it.
ОтветитьMy goodness, I want that car so bad! When I was a kid, my mom's boyfriend had one, and it was the first turbo gage I'd ever seen! It was the coolest thing for a ten year old to see at the time lol.
ОтветитьI had an 89’ Conquest TSi. Identical to the Starion. I prefer this boxy shape and it looks more futuristic than the cyber truck. Great job! Looks so clean!!!😊❤
ОтветитьHeard about the starion from one of the challenges in top gear UK. Jeremy had a red starion, I remember.
ОтветитьSo... why don't you close the headlights? They were not intended to be popped open if not in use.
ОтветитьOne of my best friends had a Conquest in college. His was silver. Lots of fun to drive since there was so much power for a lightweight car.
ОтветитьMy dad owned its production its production partner, the mitsubishi cordia turbo
ОтветитьAlways loved this car, Japanese friend of mine in middle school 86-87 ,his dad had one, I always thought it was so cool. Jackie Chan drove one in the movie Cannonball run. I also had a 84 Dodge Daytona, that looked similar but was a piece of shit. Later bought a 90 RX7, loved that car too, wish I never sold it.
ОтветитьBeautiful car by the way ❤ it . This is definitely a CONQUEST, my dad sold these brand new back in the day. You will love it- a blast to drive too!!! Enjoy 🤩💯👍
ОтветитьI have always know of both versions. They were awesome to see running on the streets back in the 80's.
👍😎👍
Definitely new of them.
Ответить😆🤣😆🤣🙃🤣Oh the chicken wrangling!!!!! You are NOT able to make that / this stuff UP!! 😆😆🥰🙃😁
ОтветитьI've never seen one before but it is very cool I used to love the Toyota supra I'm probly spelling it right but just like the baddest car that I've ever drove. I used to be a repo guy when I. Was like 25 and I really loved that job I mean I was 25 and I got to drive some 🎉of the most baddest ars and I drove em like a race car driver. I actually got one of the last year I think it was a brand new 97 and I think it was the last year they made em u till lately they are. Again. But I really didn't want to give it back I mean I was Kinda young and I just wanted to keep it so bad but of course I had to big disappoint. Let me tell you. But the car you guys have is also a awesome car would love to have that one too. Who knows maybe some day I'll hit the lottery and get all the really cool cars I've been dreaming of for ever. The best truck I ever bought was a 1991 Chevy 454 SS and I was blowing mustang 5.os in the dust Joe from Chicago
ОтветитьAlways nice to see a Mitsubishi Starion .. there are still some mint examples in the UK .. bought locally from the main dealer...
Just one thing that seemed really odd to me with this car.. (both cars at the end) why on earth are the headlights in the up position ? were the motors seized / broken .. just looks very strange... but .. whatever...
Cannonball Run 2 (1984). Jackie Chan in a Mitsubishi Starion 😊
ОтветитьIm from Australia My mate raced a Starion and now his son races the same car. They were raced In Australian Touring car racing for a while Brad Jones raced one. Tried to put photo of Race car in but wont let me.
ОтветитьThank you for calling it Mitsubishi Starion, and not DSM whatever.
ОтветитьI watched this video awaiting those headlights the whole time I love the cars that put eyelashes on them I always imagine faces on cars😂
Ответитьthis car is a dodge conquest as per the tag indicating Mitsubishi for Chrysler, they were built all on the sane production line in Japan and shipped to the US as Mitsubishi OEM or as you have in your hands , a Starion cloned as a conquest p k us this version (you have no name tags on the car is the Chrysler version of the ES-i from Mitsubishi that was sold from 87 to 89(being the most outrageous and sleek angled looking car ) under 4000 sold in the US and conquests less than 5000 units sold. that's why you have the wide body OEM bulges on the fenders and quarter panels plus they found the OEM station wheels with stagger fitting to try to control the OEM 188 hp from the 2.6l turbo in-line 4 and from the mods done on this conquest, it's been massaged quite a bit: upgrated to a 3 core rad with the polished top support plate as a giver, a larger turbo (i imagine maybe a T04/T04 with a GT3000 throttle body) with bigger intake pipe with a blowout valve , plus a turbo back 3 inch exhaust system we're talking easily in the 290 to 345 hp depending that they have a programmable ECU or oem plus a few piggyback add-ons to tune the engine up. if you have any other question on this or other cars , leave me a little note . I'll answer it in the best knowledgeable way I can.
Ответитьi have owned a 86 conquest when i was in my 20's. Great car love the look and that they were ahead of time of other cars at the time....decent fast for the time as well. If i could find another one in clean condition i would scoop it up. Awesome to see one on here !
ОтветитьI’ve actually owned two Conquests. One an ‘88, the other an ‘89. Both red over black. Had a friend in high school that had an ‘87 that was Fiji Blue, coolest car I can remember from my teenage years! The car you are cleaning has a hood from an early car (prior to ‘85).
ОтветитьDo you know what the Starion/Conquest is?
