Ping Virtual Machine from Host Machine

In order to ping a virtual machine from your host machine, the network adapter option must be enabled.

Go to VM Settings navigate to Network, then select Adapter 2.
Enable Network Adapter and set "Attached to" to VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter. Finally, start your VM.
