Into the Rainbow - Time Lapse Drive Through OK Storm HD

This was shot July 1st 2011 while passing through Oklahoma City, OK on a road trip across (most of) the U.S.A. I could see the storm from miles away and dreaded hitting Oklahoma City in the rain. What a pleasant surprise. Rainbow!

The rainbow looked best while it was out of frame and these pictures don't do it justice. I wish I could have shot it with the D300s. No time -had to keep driving. I took comfort knowing it was captured on the Stealth.

Frontier City can be seen on the left hand side of the highway (North) near the end of the video.

The images were captured every 5 seconds using a Drift Innovation HD170 Stealth wide angle camera (170 degrees). The 2592 x 1944 (4:3) JPGs were converted into a 30fps movie using photo jpg compression. The movie was cropped to 1920 x 1080 (16:9), playback slowed 75% and exported as H.264 movie with AAC audio.

Shame the horizon isn't straight during this section of the trip.
