I've recently found this channel, love it, so am starting from oldest to newest. Aside from that, as a South African this freaks me out, how did he get into the house? We have safety gates on our doors and burglar bars on all our windows, and not just the opening window, across the whole window. I'll never be able to stay in a house with no burglar bars, that's like an open invitation here.

As a 70-yr-old widow, l built my "retirement" home with this on mind.
One story home with only 2 doors (excluding garage Car doors - NO man door), small windows and high up. I never open my blinds, so its not an easy house to "case".
In the 1st yr i had a 16' enclosed utility trailer stolen which was found and returned. Criminals caught and paid for the crime. But, nothing else...so far.
Cameras too be added soon.

OK that's weird, I swear I heard this exact story on Lets Read! but it was a man who had to climb up in the attic from his closet to hide. The entire time he could hear someone running around his house screaming and tearing apart. He even counted backwards from a thousand before coming down to find his cell phone. But I don't recall anything about ciggerette smoke in the other one and the police investigation didn't think it was personal. They suspected whoever it was was having some kind of psychotic drug trip, but because of the mindset he was in he probably would have killed anyone if he found them.
