TAS Competition 2016 Task 1 by TimeTravelPenguin

Timing starts upon first frame being made visible within the world, timing ends when Mario turns to face the camera after collecting the star.

The aim is to collect the star "Shoot to the Island in the Sky" while only using 5 A presses OR LESS, without the assistance of Wing Caps, Cannons, Koopa Shells, Cloning, or a pre-set HOLP.

My opinion on Task 1 TAS:

To be honest, this task (and my TAS) sucked. It wasn't so much a "do this as fast as you can" task. It was more a "do this with the best route when under these strict, abnormal conditions" task.

I am hoping the ABC gets dropped or is better implemented at a further time.

Because of the difficulty I had routing this, I had no motivation to optimize it or play around with it to find better routes.

I am still happy with the result, after all, I have to learn from my mistakes for this is my first competition. But I am disappointed with how this first task was aimed for newer TASers who may not have the fundamentals to route efficiently.
