Fixing Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Install Error in 2023

My high sierra os got messed up so wiped out the macintosh HD to do a clean reinstall in the recovery mode i have tried both the internal recovery mode and the jnternet recovrry mode (spinning globe) but keep getting failed to connect to recovey server error. My mid 2012 macpro came with mountain lion so decided to revert back. In the internet recovery mode once i select the macintosh HD the installation time shows a negative number and looking at the instalation logs i see chunk validation failed error over and over. Digging deep in the logs i see failed to get whole physical disk error even though the disk utility verifies the hard drive to be okay and is mounted. Date is uptodate i am connected to the internet since i am able to use recovery mode safari to go online. Do you have any suggestions for this strange problem?
