I have heard looking in peoples mouths can make you go mad
ОтветитьI AM HE. THE NICK. THE GHOST-RIDER. THE LEGEND. THE MAN WHO CANNOT BE CAGED.
ОтветитьIf you are supposed to project yourself onto the protagonists, why do girls/women so often get crushes on those male protagonists? Haha
ОтветитьI suggest anyone that likes Junji Ito to check out works of Hideshi Hino! I am huge fan of Hino's work like Panorama of Hell, I can't remember another manga with such a creepy (in a good way) story
ОтветитьThis is why kids are instinctively scared of dentists
ОтветитьHey, Nicholas here! Good stuff. Glad to see you mention that one film i was in.
Ответитьfun fact when he says subscribe the subscribe button glows outer border on pc
ОтветитьI'm not Nicholas Cage but I'm loving the content !
Ответитьout of all the horrors he made, no longer human is what gave me nightmares that shit creeped me out
wouldnt recommend
The best example of this is oyasumi punpun
ОтветитьSo your saying that the meathod of drawing horror is ”it isnt supose to do that”?
Ответитьdental technician is so fitting bro🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьSo interesting to see the chain of inspiration across artists!
ОтветитьBerserk plays with the border of picture perfect and comic style
ОтветитьHonestly, this is why Junji Itto's works will never be captured well by anime. The contrast in styles is something only manga can pull off while anime has to have a uniform art style. Uzumaki episode 1 was almost able to achieve it but the studio fumbled in budget and quality after. We will never get to know now if they would be able to achieve its full potential.
ОтветитьAmazing lecture. (about Giger, It's pronounced Geager, not Guyger ; )
Ответить🌵🌀🌀
Ответитьmatt knows how to "attack" comics
good video
Lmao. He worked in dentistry. After staring into the abyss of other people horrifying mouths I am not surprised he wrote this. Lmao.
He come up more horrible tales if he saw my poor asses mouth.
R.I.P. Mr. Umezu Kazuo. He passed away two months ago at the age of 88.
ОтветитьNo joke this was beautifully made and inspiring. It reminded me how and why I adore manga. It's fun, shocking, fresh, horrifying and memorable. THANK YOU so much for your video and showing love and respect to Ito.
Ответитьcheck out the GON series if yer not aware of yet. have u done Dave Sim already? that d be cool
Ответитьi am Nicholas but not caged, i'm freed.
ОтветитьA dental technician making horror? Yeah... makes some sense to me... have you seen what a "dental phantom" looks like?
ОтветитьHey it's me nickeless cage, and I agree
ОтветитьWow, what a great video. I've been an Ito fan for a long time now and I've watched a lot of videos explaining what makes his particular style so effective. But this video has been by far the most well researched and explained thesis on his work, detailing his wide cultural range of idols and influencers, and providing specific, concise examples of the use of his techniques pulled from his body of work. Thanks very much, well done.
ОтветитьIf I had to perform dental hygiene on some mouths that I have seen in public I would probably be moved to draw psychological horror too.
ОтветитьThis is what being a dentist does to someone
ОтветитьI have literally been obsessed with Junji Ito
ОтветитьSo the guy who made children cry, had a job in which he specialized in painful techniques, and nearly bankrupted families with high cost bills made a modern horror classic? That checks.
Ответитьayup im a swiss person and my godfather knew giger, as he said it he was a very interesting man i absolutley love his work an thats part of why i ended up being so interested in junji ito :)
Ответитьi had no idea!!!!!!
ОтветитьThis is the 5th video from you I've watched today. I've been absolutely blown away by your ability to describe the powerful and subtle fine points of comic artistry and craftsmanship generally, mixed with the wacky backstories of the comics I read as a kid. Just phenomenal, keep it going!
ОтветитьJunji Ito is a genius. I adore his artwork I think I read almost all of his comics.
ОтветитьI love Ito's works. Like a lot of people I got into his stuff through "Enigma of Amigara Fault" but my all time favorite of his is "The Long Dream".
ОтветитьI'm the far right picture kinda artist 😂
Ответитьnow all he needs is a master of anime to adapt his work properly . He's not there yet .
ОтветитьYou should do a vid on parasyte!
ОтветитьOne of the greatest compliments I had ever recieved was someone saying my art reminded them of Junji Ito's work - and this was before I'd seen more than maybe 2 images of his. It was only later, after I had seen more of his work, that I started to really appreciate that.
ОтветитьThe complex drawings contrasting from simple stuff reminds me of the gags from SpongeBob to be honest. Not surprised that it can be used as a powerful tool.
ОтветитьI’m not Nic Cage.
ОтветитьMy greatest inspiration
