The only one that bugs me is the pandaria one. I can get most other places without issue (I collect teleport items) But flying across the entire continent of pandaria to get to a portal to the isle of thunder just sucks. The shrine wasn't much closer, but.. still sucks.

Some things were fun the first time, not necessarily the 100th time. Flying is one of those. Slow delays thrown in the way are horrible. I like Elder Scrolls Online's wayshrines MUCH better than flying in WoW. Delays are not good.

i really love the new portal room and the portals it offers. Its a good selection in my opinion

I find it odd people don't think a 2 boss raid can't actually have a good race. The mythic race is only really ever about 1-2 bosses; Everything else tends to be dead in a handful of attempts.

It would probably mean many guilds would end up at 1/2 instead of 8/9, but the last boss absolutely can be just as difficult in a 2 boss raid as a 20 boss raid.

Just look at Helya, a very difficult boss at the end of a 3 boss raid. There's no reason the 2nd boss couldn't be that difficult.

I have a solution. Take the portals that were removed and make them new portals that MAGES can learn and offer for people. You know, the whole idea of multiplayer interaction etc. Otherwise, I don't even know why mages even have portals anymore if EVERYONE gets them now.

The thing is with Portals. Its cool and all to travel the world for the 1st couple times. Then it becomes boring and tedious and makes you feel like your time, THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR. Is being WASTED.

Well they did have a sale for account services and for BFA so you can buy it again and get a half price 110 boost

The reason I would be upset about the portals being removed is b/c when i used to play wow, i was more into roleplaying and portals were handy for cloak and dagger type or smuggling RP and the like. It was good fun, especially for roleplaying meetings at the Tavern of Time.

The more news I hear about WoW, the more glad I am that I left it.

I love how sarcastically humorous these updates are. It reinforces my decision to shelve BFA, regardless of all the cool shinies that they are offering in the current xpac....

Please do the same when Classic comes out! I'm hopeful that you guys will be genuinely excited about it, though if it's more sarcasm I'm all for that too!

The grind of 14 toons through the same raid, farming a mount or xmog, isn't fun. That extra travel time is just the straw that breaks the camel's back. The reward of the mount or that xmog is the reason. The decision to use all alts to get it, is the concession that we make if we want that reward. After finding the most efficient way to pull it off every week, this removal of portals is just too much.

When I played Everquest, we never had god dam portals - we had Druids and Wizards.

We had to talk to other players to get around, crazy to think.

the. begining. of. the. video. what drugs am i on to see real people in a video game world that looks soo ridiculous i actually think that it really happened. Are you guys actual time travelers that can travel in time through video games?

New contents so far are good. Heart of Azeroth quest was fun. Brawler's guild quest and rank fights were super fun. Got Bruce and he's awesome, and mog looks like dog shit but it looks good when you mix and match with other gears. So far so good. Quite immersive unlike most of the bfa quests they've been shitting out. New allied races finally. Only part it sucks that I have to do another one of those grueling level up grind. Portal room looks cool except it's not that useful to me, but didn't affect me so much cuz I'm not big mount collector. Wintergrasp is like a drop of fresh water in sahara after doing Alterac valley over and over again and having a seizure while doing it. New bg maps look delicious. Except my comp is shit and now I'm lagging a bit more even in lowest set. But that's just my personal problem.

The only thing that will happen because of that portal bullshit is the exact opposite of what Blizz claimed to have wanted: no one is going to visit those far off locations anymore, because most people will not waste time going to some place in bumfuck nowhere.

I also love the travel side of WoW. It gives me the feeling that I truly am traveling in a ‘real’ world 👍🏻

Mages have a reason to make portals again... I'm fine with it....then again, I'm also one of those waiting for Classic, since I miss the old ways ( don't get me wrong, I like current WoW too)

I don't think having portals detracts from the overall size and scale of the world. While it's true that you skip over portions of the world using them, there are still mages in the game that can port you basically anywhere you want. If Blizzard wants to remind us of how large the world is, and show off the cool things to see and do they need to make an effort to make the world relevant again.


WoW has a huge world with beautiful zones that are sadly underutilized. You go through them as you level up a character and aside from max level zones, rarely ever do you go back to the lower level areas, especially zones outside of the current expansion. This was changed slightly in Legion when world scaling was introduced, in that with the scaling they could make high level content in each of the zones. This sadly did not translate to the rest of the world.


Allowing some world scaling from 1-90 was decent...though at the end of the day all it really did was allowed you to skip boring zones or pick the most time efficient areas. It did nothing to actually make the leveling up experience any better, or make the world a more organic and enjoyable place.


If Blizzard wants players to experience the world in all its vastness they should remove the level restrictions on areas (outside of the current expansion). Allow players to choose their own paths and adventures. Not only that but have the same world scaling that is currently in Legion/BFA and translate that to the rest of the game and design high level/end game content in the form of main story, side quests and special events all throughout the world. Blizz, if you want players to explore and travel your world, give players reasons to want to.

These 2 are the best thing about wow. And i care not for portals.. I like travelling around

Wish they make an exspansion that will scale all zones to endlevel and make it fun to go places. Like the witcher make towns have their own specialist stuff. And my orc wears no shoulder armor and soon will have no chest armor either. I miss the days where you went around just to seek out cool quests and teamed up with people you meet and develope Friendships. Or travel together to cool instances that take a whole evening because they are soo big.

Making hearthstones 5m cooldown down from 20+ as well as adding the option to teleport to specific locations that were hotspots would suffice for the portal loss.

Blizzard has removed portals before and will remove portals in the future, they don't want people to hang out in old cities unless they REALLY want too, which i'm perfectly fine with! The difference this time is that people are stuck up whiny little children who cry whenever someone drops their icecream. In my 15 years of playing wow i learned one thing, sometimes changes are gonna suck, and sometimes they are great, if you don't like the changes unsub and play something else, if you do like it great continue playing and have fun! Sometimes taking a break from the game makes the new content so much more fun to experience, i for one am for sure coming back for 8.2, maybe even before!
