This game is checking all the boxes it possibly could pre-release. It's also a good sign that the review embargo for it lifts January 6th, a day before the early access period starts for those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition.

What strikes me as quite impressive is how much they've managed to engage me, but they've barely revealed anything about the story. When you think about it, we know jack shit about the game's plot. I hope that part of it delivers as well.

This game is also coming out with a massive day one patch that should solve many if not all of these issues.

still not sold. I feel like the hype is too high rn and it might not meet the high expectations.. I'm mostly concerned about the enemy ai/ design. looks stiff

I consider any game that runs under 60fps at 1080p to be unplayable and it is my absolute lowest I'm willing to dumb down a game to while keeping it running at ultra/high settings. If I have to put a setting on medium or lower my resolution below 1080p then I'm not playing the game.

THANK YOU. I’m also a frame snob, but I’ve seen Hogwarts Legacy captured on Xbox Series X and it looks incredibly smooth. VRR support should boost it to 40fps.

I'll never understand people who complain about stable 30 fps, I've played with so much less online. That said many games are straight up not optimized but that's doesn't seem to be the case in this game

The depth on work that went into character and horse animations in red dead is what makes it fine at 30 imo. Makes things feel more fluid than choppy. And the stability of the 30 of course. Most games I just can hardly play at 30 anymore. Even when theyre really good. I can damn near get motion sick especially with motion blur and stuff. If games were locked at 40 I wouldn't have any problem.

Wifewantsawizard pointed out how wrong the owls feet were in the second trailer not third lol there’s been so many. You and Wifewantsawizard should have a conversation together about flaws in the game you guys would probably get along great. Also, b/c of what you guys do that’s probably why you guys didn’t get invited to review the game.

i find it so annoying that pop in still isnt fixed in 2023. Its my biggest pet peeve.
I've started noticing it in the Dead Space remake too.

Do not mistake pop-in with LOD. The game has both. Hopefully devs will manage to reduce pop-in before launch but LOD is somethig that 99.9% of games have. Some games have very aggresive LOD, some other has barely noticeable LOD.

i will be so depressed if this game lets me down. i let myself get hyped up about this one. i can normally keep it in check but this one got the best of me so fingers crossed lol

I’m so happy Luke that someone has taken a mature stance to the whole JK Rowling thing. Don’t Judge Art by its artist especially when the person creating the art isn’t responsible for the source material. IGN should be critiquing the game not the source materials author’s personal beliefs.

I don't see how that combat looks any good. The only thing I see here is story.
