Sappiamo che i glucometri che misurano la glicemia attraverso un goccia di sangue, riportano una misurazione assai diversa rispetto al sangue venoso. L'ho provato io stesso, diverse volte, provando la glicemia con glucometro dopo essermi sottoposto a prelievo venoso.

Quindi, non sappiamo quanto sia la glicemia in vena quando facciamo un test con glucometro. Potremmo anzi dire che non sappiamo nemmeno se i test con ago in vena siano corretti.

Secondo me, non siamo in grado di dire quale scelta, in un certo range, in termini di correzione delle glicemie sia più salutare.
Avere una emoglobina glicata più bassa è meglio per quanto riguarda il danno d'organo conseguente, ma non sappiamo se e quanto, un calo dei valori sia pagato in funzione di altre variabili non conosciute, provocate dalla fluttuazione conseguente alla correzione della glicemia.

Non sappiamo nemmeno se sia più salutare correggere determinate glicemie oppure no, in quanto le fluttuazioni glicemiche provocate da continue inoculazioni di insulina esogena, possono provocare più danno che salute invece che il contrario.

Tutti questi strumenti oggi in commercio: glucometri, sensori, orologi, infusori, smartphone e grafici conseguenti, non si sa se producano effettivamente uno strumento valido per migliorare la salute e fino a che punto.

La domanda è: Ne vale la pena?

Non so quanto precisi siano questi orologi, ma non vedo contrindicazioni nell'utilizzarli.

There is no way to control blood sugar with a smartwatch. Apple is trying to develop this technology.
