I'm really curious about the segment where he talks about the 90s-inspired design. It seems like Japanese animators are very aware of the incredible charm the mature shows of the 90s had, and I wonder what makes most anime productions nowadays ignore that.

Hearing his thoughts on all of this was incredible. Lucy’s design is a work of art that almost single-handedly sold me on watching the anime, and probably did for a lot of other people, as well.

I have been into Cyberpunk since hell the late 90s I guess, starting off with some of the best table top RPGing of my life. I would 100% without a doubt be receptive to multiple animes, even with new characters and stories, being produced. Looking forward to the new novel as well and hopefully doesn't more. Also to put it on the request list for a Special request....2nd season of Edgerunners where Lucy finds out David isn't dead, just being used for experiments by Arasaka and she has to go on a rampage to rescue him and we finally get the happy ending for those two that 99% of us want.

それがあの素晴らしいアニメとして完成させるのにはどれだけの時間、優秀な人達の頭と手と感覚、お金、試行錯誤､、素人の自分には測りかねます
とにかく素晴らしい作品を観れて感動して泣けた事にただただ感謝です

As someone who loves art and does art I can watch this dude draw for hours.

Such instantly iconic characters. Not just David and Lucy but all of them. so well done! I miss the show already. It would be crazy for them not to do another season or something within that universe. Let's hope anyways. I can't get the images and soundtrack out of my head!

When you see this you realise how hard it is to combine the writers and artists work together. A script seems much easier to create in a real life movie than an anime. And then they have to make it work together with the animation.

I didn't recognize Lucy as a mature woman, at least visually. She looks mysterious and elegant but nowhere older than David and there are moments when she really fit into that "teenage reckless" paradigm.

Maybe continue Edgerunners but its all about the stories of people that happened before 2077 and are as beautiful and sad as David's story.
