Hi sir,i am having this issue with my reaper , i cant import or drag n drop drum samples. i dont know what is happening all drum samples type is wav, i spoke to many people no one helped me so far. plzzzz help me out here. when i try to import it they dont show up as if the file is not the right type , same goes with drag n drop,,, plzzzzzzzz help thankyou😵😵

For audio system, I chose ASIO.
For ASIO driver, there is a drop down menu, but nothing shows up 🤷‍♀️

Hello. Ableton Live Lite user here. I know I'm late to the party, looking at some of the comments dates, but I had to comment on Reaper. Ableton has been crashing, a lot, so I've been on the look out for something else. First of all, Reaper is fast, really fast. I had an old home built PC with 6g of memory and that's the reason for Ableton crashing. Reaper just go's and go's and go's, with zero crashing. I'm hooked. Thanks to Zane and That Metal Head over at SpectreSoundStudios. You guys rock.

I just noticed that in the background of your video in the beginning where you explain reaper, you have albums on the wall. One of the albums immediately caught my eye. Jimi Hendrix album "Are You Experienced". Epic !!!
I will brag here to share I saw Hendrix in 1969 at Devonshire Downs. Thank you for your superb explanation here of Reaper. Great job.

can you tweek the sound on a Zoom Q2n-4K recorded at a bar of our band... ie: turn down the bass and treble up the vocals..

I'll probably stick with cakewalk since I don't see any step sequencer that's as simple to use as that one. Though I'll definitely be recording my microphone audio elsewhere cause for some reason Cakewalk chipmunks my voice.

Where the heck is the gain knob on individual tracks? It's so easy in Cakewalk, but this is a bit.......weird. Trying to gain stage.

What's the best approach of you want to create an electronic drum beat from scratch? Dragging samples in a timeline feels a little archaic. Is there any smarter way more analogous to a virtual drum computer? Reason has a ton of these types of instruments and I'm trying to assess whether switching to Reaper would work for me because I'm fed up with Reason's pricy upgrade model.

For some reason when I try to save my recording, a error pops up saying "Error opening recorded media". I'm new to recording so I'm not really an expert on this stuff. Need some help on this error.

I am looking to start recording and editing guitar/bass again. I had a MacBook with Line 6 POD for years and Mac dropped support for Line 6 so I stopped recording for the past 2+ years. Just bought a PC finally and am looking to get back into things. This DAW looks similar to GarageBand and Logic in interface and hotkeys. Would this be good for just guitar and bass though? I still have my POD and I also have a Mackie Onyx. PC DAW and audio interfaces are foreign to me.

Thanks for your demo, you did exactly what I had tried on my own. Looks so simple and reasonable, but in reality it is not.
I am not understanding why MY setup (simple piano VST with MIDI, ASIO4All) is not working:
my VSTs work fine in standalone mode or in players like Falcon,Kontakt etc.. In order to record the audio I need to use a DAW, e.g. these Reaper tracks. All MIDI settings are correct, yet NONE of my VSTs produces sound in Reaper when playing on the keyboard (i.e. they do not 'see' the MIDI signals). When playing on the virtual keyboard of the VST (some have that feature) inside Reaper, audio output of the VST IS reaching the Reaper track. Clearly it is the MIDI part that is not working. Somehow it is 'stolen' by Reaper and not sensed by the VST window inside this DAW. Reaper seems to not handle my MIDI channels, despite MIDI being enabled in the settings as you show,.
I hoped to see how to correctly set it up, but in your case it simply works, in my case it simply doesn't. That's why I came here.
How to debug this mess, why is it so difficult to do such a basic thing, i.e. record a VST instrument? Very vew VSTs offer a built-in recorder, sadly, so a DAW is needed. I do have an older Cubase , but it does not even see my newer VSTs, while Reaper picks all of them up nicely during installation. I am stuck.

Thank you. By far my favorite daw. Wish I never would've wasted my time with other overpriced softwares.. reaper is the best. Will gladly pay 60 bucks for this type of quality!

Q: Afer I render a track as an mp3 and I clean it up post-production, I still hear this subtle hiss or static sound throughout the song and am wondering where in Reaper I would go specifically to remove a very subtle hiss sound? This is music I made is through a daw and midi-controller. No vocals or anything on this. Any help or ideas would be great.

so.. my mixer won't dock, it just moves the window to were it should dock , and I don't the have player controls ( play , Record ,FF rewind )
