Love CHL. Many similarities with another great film "I AM a Fugitive from a Chain Gang" Starring Paul Muni (1932) including the bush-shaking scene, and the two prisoners escaping on a dump truck which the bed is raise up to act as a shield from bullets. Worth checking out.

lol...I always got a kick out of this scene...the first time I watched it I was probably about 18 years old and I never understood why a man with shackles on his ankles with a 30 second head start required "get the dogs"...I would have run him down on foot in about 45 seconds.

Boss Keen was a nice boss to Luke; Until Luke, pissed off boss keen and Got Boss Keen angry. Then Boss Keen wasn't nice any more after giving Luke every chance possible and same with many other bosses and the captain of the road gang.
