Well, they made one.
EA rushed Criterion. Criterion was forced to give up on the storyline. We ended up with MW 2012 and a lot of leaked betas that were absolutely insane in terms of story. The plot was so well thought out.
Somebody kidnapped Mia, ratted you out to the police and then you had to evade (cool cutscene required, ofc. Jumping over cops when leaving the compromised safehouse.) the police, then stash your car somewhere to get rid of the heat.
Most likely you would have had to advance through the blacklist to find clues about who kidnapped Mia.
But nah... Holiday season sales were much better.
