Great review. I’m on their website now. They seem to use some good tanneries, CF Stead being one.
I think I would consider these over Thursday Boots for only a little extra on cost.
Kudu suede/roughout is definitely super soft. These look very nice
ОтветитьMy old pair on Hok last is ultraflex model. Extremely comfortable when the veg tan gets broken in. Im really hoping for the broken in video of them because im considering the pair. I wonder if the horse lining is there to survive longer the rub of the toe nails when the cap colaps
ОтветитьKind of not known Meermin peark is that they do custom lasts as well made to the feet in case one has weird feet. I would love to see someone actually order a pair
ОтветитьI'm very impressed by this boot. Thank you for making this video.
ОтветитьI would love you put written down the kg weight as the post production. Im also in to putting the boots on scale and as european i cant cach what the numbers mean in speed. It is a minor thing
ОтветитьHow is your brannok HtT and HtB if i may ask? Just so I can orientate when im ordering my pair
ОтветитьSo for a 7 E in Grant Stone’s Leo last (Diesel & Edward), I should size to a 7 in these as that would be a half size up?
ОтветитьI've been wanting more videos on this brand! Thanks for making this video!
ОтветитьGot a pair of burgundy shell cordovan for 235 off eBay .great boots
ОтветитьThanks for the detailed review. I was about to order shell cordovan MTO they're currently funding but couldn't find much info about Negon last. Still confused about the sizing though. I was thinking about going half size down from Viberg 2030 since Negon is apparently the most forgiving last from Meermin.
ОтветитьBellows tongue is a British term. Any sentence with gusset and tongue used together will always make a Brit laugh. 😂
I’m also laughing at how much you’re stroking the lining with your fingers! You’re having way too much fun there. 😂
They offer this Negon boots on shell cordovan leather for less than $400 the only thing is that for now is only made to order.
Thanks for the review. I order mine on the crossboard leather.
Great review! It’s kind of funny that the hardcore Viberg people love the heel curve that you dislike.
This is definitely closer to what old vibergs were than current Viberg
2 days ago I received my Negon last in brown polo. Stunning stuff :) living in Europe it's a great option for rugged style
ОтветитьThank you for the detailed review! These boots are definitely on my watch list. I'm still a bit confused about the color. It's called "caper green", but the other boots on the Meermin site with this color are way more green, while the Negon looks more brownish. In your video, it has a more green tint. What would you say, will these go well witch black jeans? What belt colors would go with them?
I know you're not the Meermin customer service but maybe you can help me with sizing. I own Red Wings based on the Last #8 in US 9.5 what translates to a UK 8.5 on the Meermin size calculator. Furthermore, I have a pair of Thursdayboots Scouts (Chukka) in U.S. 9.5. With this, the recommendation on the Meermin site is a UK 9. So, next to the color this is another thing that confuses me. Do you have a comparison with either Red Wings or Thursday's?
Has anyone heard of or used the Meerminminus shop. Prices and selection look too good to be true, so...
How do their size chart compare to standard "sneaker" sizes? I'm wondering being 9.5 US / 42.5 EU in should i just go for 8.5 or is there more to it?
ОтветитьThat's a nice video! I'm on the verge of buying a pair... I might wait just a tiny bit for a sale, but for sure they look worth their full price
ОтветитьDo you find the Negon to fit wider in the toe box than the Hok in the same size? You mentioned you have both lasts in 7.5. I have Hok in 7.5 also and it pinches my pinky toe at my right foot.
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on Thursday Chelsea vs. Meermin Chelsea? I'm curious how the fit also was for you as well and I'm eyeing the Snuff Waxy Kudu. I am 10D in grant stone Diesel boot and trying to figure out what the size would be for Meermin
Ответитьhey man, this was a great review, I really liked how you compared the Meermin pair to other pairs that you own and even measured the weight to give us a good idea of how they're built. and of course, the FIT COMPARISON, what a lifesaver.
I think your channel has a lot of potential (in terms of the style of the reviews and content, plus there're women's GYW boots reviews too, which is awesome) and maybe investing into a little bit more production value (e.g., the lighting, white balance in the edit, a slightly larger foreground for the presentation of the boots) would help in the long run - and I hope there's a long run and the both of you keep doing this 😀👍
Great review! Really interested in these boots!
I'm a size UK 7/US 8 in Red Wings. Should I go for the same size for the Negon last boots?
I have a pair of Grant Stone Brass boots in burgundy kudu. They are internally lined but I find myself doing the same thing as you with the tongues. The inside of the kudu leather is unbelievably soft. I like how Meermin used the kudu leather for the heel pads on these. I've been thinking about ordering a pair of these and was leaning towards the Polo oiled shoulder leather but I really like the character of kudu and the green color. Also regarding the "snuff" kudu, after browsing so many boot options, I realized "snuff" is the color (that light to medium brown) if you look at other CF Stead leathers. The two kudu leather are the naked, which I think Stead calls classic and the waxy kudu which is what my Grant Stones use. The heavier wax finish on the waxy kudu seems to make the surface look smoother despite the flaws and character of the leather. The classic/naked kudu seems to have a visibly textured surface.
ОтветитьI ordered The HOK chelseas in UK/meermin size 8 after going by their sizing tool, but 8,5US fit me well in Thursday's Nirvana and kingsmaker last, so i'm probably returning them for 7,5 UK's, kind of a bummer they have such a bad sizing tool tbf, if it's going to be completely inaccurate why even have it at all. Planning on getting a Negon lasted boot as well, but waiting for a colorway/leather that speaks to me better.
Ответитьtoday my Negon cordovan boots arrived . I already had a pair of size 10.5 service boots on the rod last ( it is hok’s sister last, looks the same but uses Meermin’s "ultraflex system"). I read on forums that rod last runs slightly tigher than hok. For the negon i ordered size 10 and it is almost the same fit. My point is, if you want to order Negon last and already have a rod last boot/shoe, consider to size down. btw: if you ask meermin about sizing, they will provide you the measurements chart of the new negon last with all data in all sizes.
ОтветитьI just ordered a pair of Thursday Commander something's telling me I should have got these.
ОтветитьKind of confused on sizing on their website what size should I get if I wear 10?
ОтветитьIf Meermin had not starting cutting cost / quality I would buy them. They remove a leather mid sole & cork and went to a foam. Sad but true.
ОтветитьBabble on my wayward son..
Howdy, l like your channel, just subscribed. It seems that we have similar tastes in boots. That is both cool & helpful to me. I spent more than an hour chewing off the ears of the NYC Meermin store sales guys last week. Some of what I had enquired about was the Negon Boot. More Meermin reviews please! ✌🏻
Thanks for this review and especially the sizing details. The Meermin website says to use your US size and size down 1 for UK. But US size isn't defined. Wasn't sure if they mean Brannock size or "boot" size, which always seems to be 1/2 size down. So, if my Brannock is 10.5D, a 9.5E is most likely my best fit? Thanks again.
ОтветитьI like the part where you are fingering the boot.
