The only thing that kinda always bothers me is how Wesley blinks right before Picard activates the game. He obviously had the ability to still close his eyes. LOL. nitpickin'!

This episode is analogous to the modern day over usage of our phones. Our phones have programmed our minds to seek out more pleasure, hence trapping us in a pleasure seeking bind. This was the very first episode of Star Trek I ever saw. I was instantly hooked and needed more.

I think of this episode at this time of relentless mourning of The Queen and the media propaganda that comes with it. The game is all that and I'm Wesley who has figured it out but the propaganda machine is coming for you. The antidote is Data who are republicans.

This episode would keep popping up in my head during the year 2020. I had to look this episode up.

This was a weird and disturbing episode I thought, mostly because I find it hard to believe NO ONE who started playing the game figured out what it was doing to them and stopped playing it. In real life many people can become addicted to something, but never everyone.
