I have a cord drop with 4 receptacles over my work bench. Saves triping over cords.
ОтветитьLots of good suggestions but one holding option you didn't mention for dog holes is a hold fast . And what about a vice?
ОтветитьI haven't had luck with my bench cookies. They vibratenall over the place when im sanding. Everything else is very helpful thanks
ОтветитьHoldfasts, at least a quality holdfast, are so fast and effective. You will see them on hand tool oriented shops, which I am guessing most of your subscribers are not. But they are worth taking a look at.
ОтветитьMy shed is a 10x12 and most of my tools will be along the 12 length. The 10 ft length will be more mobile station. Now with all this said my mobile workbench would be either a 3x5. Should I look at making it bigger cuz I like yours is big. Any thoughts 💭 ❤❤❤
ОтветитьAlways a good watch 👍 something that may help others though we work as contractors with portable workbenches we use FRP sheets glued to our bench. You can also use shower walls as well but frp is best. Glue dosent stick to it easly, paint flakes right off and impact resistant won't dent or scratch. If they use it for restaurants and hospitals for a cleanable surface there's a reason. Also I have this issue of people not noticing that depth of saw cuts and going into the table. Rhe smell of burning fiberglass should be your clue something is wrong and all thoes plastic shavings but dosent dull or destroy blades when they cut into the table. It's so easy to clean , maintain and replace better than formica or milmine.
ОтветитьThanks, a bunch! I found it, I was looking at another video of yours and got the list mixed up. Love your videos! Take care and God bless.
ОтветитьThanks for another great video. I appreciate you. Also, I love your shirt. My pastor preached a message several years ago called “Even If”. It included that scripture. Love the song by Mercy Me too. God bless you
ОтветитьGreat video Matt as always I’m hoping to start building myself a workbench here in the next few weeks and I really love your bench I just need to incorporate my DeWalt job site table saw into my bench so I can have an out feed table when cutting stuff. Just need to decide what to do on the top tee track or dog holes ? But I really like that mat you add to the top of your bench definitely going to look into one of them.
ОтветитьHey I’ve been watching your channel for years now and I’m wondering, do you actually build anything anymore like you used to? It seems like the only vids in my feed anymore are always product type vids. I’m just curious.
ОтветитьInstead of brown paper a shower curtain works great for glue ups to protect benchtop
Ответить✅
Ответить+1 for hockey pucks. They make great bench cookies and they also make nice anti-vibration cabinet or equipment feet
ОтветитьAnother great video. But I can’t stop focusing on “etc.” 😂
ОтветитьThose are all great ideas! I wish I had the room for a big work table but I share the 40x40 shop with my lawn care stuff so one side is all wood working and the other is lawn care. I will say my little 2x3' work table has served me well but its time for something a bit bigger and something with a level top lol, love the 90 degree dog ear braces ...I could really use those!
ОтветитьSir do you anyone that’s in a wheelchair and has a custom workbench? Iv looked at some on Amazon that are 6’x2’ adjustable hight but 1” thick. I need something I can roll under any suggestions?
Thanks
Randy
Even If
ОтветитьIdk why, but I can't stand when you say "excetera" (cause you say it a lot I guess). I love your videos, but it's etcetera lol
ОтветитьThanks Matt. That is a sweet workbench.
ОтветитьCan you ask questions here? It is there a specific place I need to ask questions to get answers?
ОтветитьLee Valley sells grip discs for hockey pucks which turns your pucks into awesome bench cookies for very cheap. I made 12 and the size and weight is much better than Rockler's IMO
ОтветитьSo you have a big rubber mat to cover up your T-tracks ? very handy
ОтветитьGo Preds!
Ответитьas a beginner wood worker i have found the HF small parts cases a do very well . i know a lot of people dont like HF tools BUT i dont have problems unless i use some ( electrical mostly) every day or all day long ! i have broke a couple of the quick clamps but the bar clamps and f style seem ok! POWER strips get the 4ft 12 outlet if you have room some of mine are several years old and going fine, they also have a set that have magnets to hold them on more expensive but nice, i also like their 1250lum rechargeable work light with power bank , it just has a kick stand but also a 1/4-20 tread hole that you could put on a tripod my work table is an adjustable writhing table right now will have to make something more solid once i get the shop finished out and figure out places for stuff, it works good as an outfeed table or drop it down to put a project on down low !mine is electric so moves from one height to another quickly. Great tips will need to pick up some for my shop(when its finished)!!!!!!! love the rubber mat on the table i keep a rubber entry mat to put down when i work on the floor saves the knees!!!! AS ALWAYS GREAT TIPS AND VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьTraditional workholding with Holdfasts is quicker and more versatile than anything IMHO. I am a hybrid woodworker and the discovery of Holdfasts changed the game with power and handtools.
Ответить731 and "CA Glue"............."I put that shit on EVERYTHING!!!". LOL :-) Thanks for the ideas
ОтветитьI used 1/2" plywood to create french cleats on the ends and back of my bench. I can grab something off the wall and take it to the bench easily. I put the clamp holder on the end of the bench. Even though it is also on a french cleat, it has not moved since day 1. I use those plastic political signs/contractor signs for protection. They don't cover the whole bench, but they are good enough for me. A couple of times I did grab 3, and tape them together, but for what I do, one is generally good.
ОтветитьSTOP with your Stupid faces on your thumbnails, I won't/don't watch them because of them...click baiter!!!!
ОтветитьReasonable compared to any hobby that can make mony❤😂 . If you have a special skill how many more skill .
ОтветитьGreat tips. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьRouting 3/4" deep in my workbench would be a problem since it has 5/8" plywood top.
ОтветитьI love your channel and you usually do a great job discussing woodworking, but I have to point out that there is a lot more to drilling holes for an MFT or 2096 system than you implied. These holes need to be space precisely for the system to work as intended, so it's not like you can just start drilling 20mm holes.
If you're going to drill your own holes, like me, there really is only one option to get CNC-like placement and precision of the holes, and that is by buying a UJK Parf Guide Mark II jig which can be purchased from TSO or Axminster tools (shipped from London to the U.S. for free). The jig itself is a little over $250 after tax and shipping (depending on where you live). I own this jig and it is an example of phenomenal build quality similar to TSO products. The other good option in my opinion is to buy A pre drilled benchtop or drill your own with a CNC. The point being that you can't just drill your own holes like you mentioned in the video. You need to place them precisely so that the holes can be used to always hold your work and track saw and perfect angles (and with the right accessories, you can cut virtually any angle with absolute precision).
Lastly, there is a whole lot of functionality you didn't show or mention using the 2096 system which has been around since WWII. TSO and Axminster Tools both offer a ton of options for MFT/2096 systems for woodworking if anyone is interested. In fact, no other holding method rivals the versatility of the 2096 system in my opinion—and it's not even close. The only exception might be Woodpecker's Track Clamp Bench Top which combines the 2096 system with a series of t-slots or, better yet, the dovetail track version Peter Millard made.
Matt, I love you videos I love your board butter and I love your ministry. I have the same million dollar bills from living waters. 😂 Keep up the good work. I'm super green at woodworking and I've made two of your benches and the jointer jig so far. I have all the pieces cut for 5 layered crosses but I'm not sure how to cut slots for the first layer but I figure I should make your safer crosscut sled first and maybe I'll figure it out. Thank you for all you do!
ОтветитьMy workbench has a "T" track, table saw, a panel comes out to set my miter saw and it's level for long stuff, another panel comes out for my planer so it sets flush for an outfeed table. Has 3 electric boxes to plug into. Getting ready to add a router inset with lift. 9 drawers to store most used stuff.Has 6 wheels that lock so i can move it anywhere or load it in my enclosed trailer.
ОтветитьYour small parts organizer boxes in the center look just like mine...random washers, screws, miscellaneous other products, and the overspill from when you forget to fasten the closures prior to picking up and moving said box. It's all a sign of a busy craftsmen. Carry on my friend!
ОтветитьFYI your Home Depot links in the desc don't work; just loads HD's homepage.
ОтветитьYou seem like a cop ? Are you an undercover ? You have a weird attitude that only cops , and people that have been in a position of authority and think they have some moral high ground in them or something you have that I can tell
ОтветитьI would bet money if you’re not a pig then you used to be.
ОтветитьYour content is generally OK on your channel, but what has gotten so bad is your click bait titles like this one. Seriously, 99% Never Do This. It’s obviously at best an exaggeration which is just a nice word for lying. After wearing all the Christian t-shirts and seeing the signage in your videos it doesn’t do anything positive for your testimony. Please try to be real and let your content be good enough to get the clicks.
ОтветитьIm addicted to this channel, I’ve watched everything 😂😂😂
ОтветитьOBSERVATION..Can you do workshop on a budget or compare expensive to cheaper price similar tools for people staring out or just dont have the money. Economy blows and not everyone can afford festool everything or a 20x10 workbench.
Thanks

ОтветитьI’m glad I found a video where the title card is not so much of clickbait. Now I can watch it.
ОтветитьNice shirt and Thanks for sharing with us!💖👍😎JP
