Yove more patience than me and i was playing a half-elf and at that time didnt particularly like Lae'zel. Not because shes a bigot, that doesnt warrant being killed (no it doesnt) but because she wants to kidnap a baby. it was a no-brainer for me.

i honestly love how "done" this character is with the gith.... like she tried everything and is just DONE...

The irony is that when we go to the creche there is only one egg left that hadn't hatched and the githyanki want the caretaker to smash it anyway because it is being seen as a weakling for taking so long.

Stealing the egg (or convincing him to let you take it) is actually the best thing FOR the egg.

Yeah I ended up pickpocketing the gear I wanted from her and then saying “ok you need to die now”. Laezel was quite happy about that :)

I felt a little guilty killing Omeluum just because Lae'Zel thought he was sus, but when I met this woman and realized The Society of Brilliance was into child trafficking, I felt so much better and Lae'Zel happily joined me for a purge of The Entire Society of Brilliance.

The gith are war-like, racist slavers, so any prejudice against them is fairly warranted honestly.
I could name real life examples, however since it wouldn’t the white european colonizers, since they don’t actually fit the description;
I would be accused of all sorts of bigotry for not falling in line of the modern fascist indoctrination/propaganda.
The real life historical and modern examples would be Africa and Asia.
Seriously, if you thought people were xenophobic/racist in America or Europe, just take a vacation to Africa and or Asia.
The art and culture is beautiful, however the people and laws aren’t “pleasant” to outsiders.
There are exceptions like with anything, however like with all exceptions, they don’t disprove the rule.

I'm just thinking about how the EXTREMELY chaotic Githyanki NPC from the campaign I'm DMing would respond to this... XD She'd probably start by correcting "Fearsomely pleasant" to "Charming" since she's a Fighter-Bard multiclass abomination with Charisma as her highest stat. From that point on, it'd be something like, "I prefer to call them 'a bunch of violent muscleheads' thank you very much!" and "Oh, I was already planning to do that, I'll be sure to let your society know once the results are in! :D" since egg-stealing is quite literally how she intends to start a family once she's ready to settle down, on the logic that she and her Githzerai girlfriend would definately be able to provide a safer, more pleasant upbringing than what she was forced to go through growing up, and that thus it would be in the eggs' best interests to be kidnapped by them...(her lawfully aligned girlfriend is considerably less enthusiatic about this idea, but hasn't completly vetoed it because she kinda agrees with the "the egg's best interest" part...)

The more I think on Esther the more I realize how horrible she is. I said something along the lines of “that’s terrible I won’t help you” and she instantly became hostile and tried to kill me. She’s so unstable!

Easily one of the worst NPCs in the game. Even when im not a Gith I murder her every time. The sheer evil of stealing a fucking baby, a fully conscious being, to raise as a science experiment

Ngl, I did give her the egg. If you follow through you learn that the egg is about to be destroyed and you’re probably it’s only hope of getting a chance to hatch. Also for me it wasn’t about Esther, it was about the society of brilliance, who I’d had really positive experiences with at this point.

I loved doing this scene as a Drow because the game let me immediately call her out on her shit and she tried to say "oh well you should understand, we used to think Drow were all evil and now we don't, I'm just trying to prove not all githyanki are evil too!" and I was just like "bitch do you have any idea how racist you sound right now?"

This quest was actually pretty fun for me, then again I was playing tiefling who already got paid upfront cause nat 20, and wasn’t gonna do it but I was heading in that direction and went, “might as well”
It’s actually pretty fun, when I got to the guy watching over the egg, in my disguise I was able to convince him to let me take the egg somewhere safe, because he said that vas or whoever was pressuring him to destroy the egg. And it’s so cool cause you learn the gith doctor was late Hatcher too so that’s why he wanted to give the egg a chance to hatch. It’s amazing how much you can learn or not learn based on your choices in this game.
Yes I did take the egg and gave it to the lady, but now it was more so I felt sympathy, he wanted the egg to be able to hatch and thrive like him, so if there is a chance it will hatch and not be destroyed by the pressure of the leaders, then I’m willing to take that chance even tho I hate the whole “savages” comments. (I’m Hispanic, folks like me have been called such things before, but sometimes life is a better option than death in my head)

Give her an Owlbear egg. It'll kill them but it's better cuz they'd abuse poor Gith kid and he'd murder them anyway.
Gith grow fast, by the time we get to BG city it will grow into full adult. Probably that's why he was taking so long to get him out
