Quake III: Arena - Railgun Frenzy with Quad Damage

Just 1 very important question though; nightmare difficulty?

Good aim

Hunter and Xaero in Nightmare difficulty are the most frenzy, when they have a railgun.

omgosha..this game! 1,2 and 3 were all mint! but Quake III Arena was someting else.
I remember having a Microsoft Intellimouse (ok, i still have it & it is still pretty good! not my daily mouse, but it's a fab spare if my ASUS ROG Gladiuus ever blips out, aha.) Did anyone play PC and have the upgraded railgun firing effect patch? it was the original design, but it was watered down for the release..for frame rate or w.e.
The upgraded version was gorgeous. It added concentric rings to the shots vapor trail, if i recall right.

This IS NOSTALGIC, Im only 16 but I started Quake 3 in 2009 along with doom right before quake live came out i remember this so much

You're playing against bots, doesn't count unless is against Xaero on nightmare.

why have the railgun when in quad damage mode? doesn't the railgun one-shot kill anyway?
